This helps out immensely. I'm a C class rider and i've been really focusing on gripping the bike with my knee's. While it's helped out a bit people haven't explained why or what I should be doing while I do that! I ride a 450 so the acceleration is very hard and I wind up holding on and gripping to hard like you said. Tomorrow i'll be practing at my sponsors house so i'll definitely put these two new tips to use along with some other things i've been learning!
You seem to know your stuff man! Great upload thanks,so much awsome info. I hope I can use your techniques on the track, If I can remember them lol best video on arm pump period.
Sounds like the same technique we use in road racing sport bikes, knees grip the bike and stay loose on the bars. Too much bar grip will give you unwanted steering inputs that will make the bike unstable. Nice Bike , what is it? ( 250 , 450?) I'm looking to start doing dirt riding ( alot cheaper than road racing). Also what break do you guys use most of? we use mostly if not all front, is it the same for dirt? thanks.
Its just a wee bit hard to grip the bike with my knees since my knees are above the seat. It doesn't help much that I can't stand up without being hunched over.
ive been racing for a while and i cased a jump went over the bars and broke my collarbone in februrary. i VERY RARELY had arm pump hardly ever. but since ive been back i get terrible arm pump to where it gets hard to hang on i cannot figure out what im doing different. if you have any extra tips please let me know. for now ill use your video thank you
Hey man it could be a couple different things. But if I was to guess... you more than likely picked up some bad technique from the injury. Do you have any video of you riding? It doesn't have to be much...Maybe a corner then a straight. I could tell you right away what's going on with some vid.
No problem Baker....Good luck with your racing...Glad I could help!
Start of the season. For me 45+ vet in Calif I like your videos. A lot thay really. Help. Just wanted to say thanks

Great vid! But I have a question: Why did u leave Limp Bizkit?
You know it was all about the he said she said bullshit...So I was just rollin rollin rollin!
mxscoob754 Ha! If u had a red hat, you'd most def pull off the Fred Durst!
If i don't grip hard, the bars shake around too much? Any help with setting suspension ect?
suspension to stiff
put less weight on front end in those typs bumps
Wow....I am doing everything wrong!
me too
I thought you were Fred Durst for a second.
+Evan Staley People tell me that a lot!
