Before the update drops... I need to try this build. I'm running the old old old one. I was just goofing around the other day and set a 3 minute pb at 2:51. I think never giving bots belts until later than normal pushed me over the top despite my misplay. I guess maybe I'm out of time before next update. Maybe I'll try to pull a save file down. I'm slow at placement. So I'm not materials limited. So the tighter early factory would have to help me out.

I don't know anything about the scene for Factorio but this was wildly fun to watch and made me feel like an ape compared to how good this base is to my normal jank! GG, WP, WR
I wonder how many hours of factorio have you played? I actually watched the whole thing. I mean how can you move so fast and not missplace all the items. like wtf... not to mention the build order that seems of course random, but is brutally planned to a the tiniest detail....
What's so crazy for me about speedruns like this: The amount of stuff they are creating just to be actually faster ... I mean, thinking back to my very first two runs I finished the game with no more than 6 assemblers producing red circuits for example. But in these speedruns they copy&paste entire sections casually that exceed my total production ... and it's NOT for an endgame megabase, it's just to launch a rocket as fast as possible! And I wonder how much this applies to the real world as well. For example how much extra resources do we waste just to get that amazon delivery within 2 days instead of 5 which would be more reasonable.
@@Puschit1 yeah the builds in any% are incredibly wastefully large for the sake of speed. The RCU build for example is 102 assemblers (that's massive) that run for like 10 minutes only!
