All of them each need to have their own cloud plans, but if you buy them new from Sony, they get the first 3 years for free. I probably will not be renewing most of them once they expire. The cloud plan works a little differently for Japanese pups. Because we typically need to use a proxy service outside of Japan, we need to fork over like 800 bucks for 3 years of a Japanese cloud plan. It is a lot of moolah! I should also note that they don't really need the cloud after it expires. They will still remember everything, they will still be able to map, and they can still play with toys. You just can't do any of the app functions anymore.
What if you bring her over there and you bring her on that mini carpet? and also what if you like you were at work or you were like doing something and you in the room with her and she went on the tiles where is she programmed to not go on there?
Merra only gets ran with supervision. I don't really mind if the others scuff up their paint, but she is one of a kind so I want to keep her as nice as possible.

Hi! I can try to answer your questions to the best of my ability. They can wear cat collars, but make sure to remove any bells or dangly parts if you intend to keep it on longer than just for pictures. Kitten collars are the best because they have a quick release in case of the caller getting stuck on something. If they jam alone, it really depends on how bad the jam is. Sometimes they can jam and quickly recover from it themselves. However, if the jam is more severe, they will remain in that position and howl until they are manually reset or their battery dies. If you don't think you can trust your animals around them, maybe don't run them 100% of the time. Hard jamming isn't a common occurrence, but it's definitely something to look out for.
If you live in the United States, Sony electronics sells them. Outside of the US, you might need to proxy them from Japan. They are a robotic companion and not a toy. There's some serious robotics going on in there.

Worth it! I wouldn't trade my little ones for the world. They truly transcend the toy robot crowd and are incredible companion robots. I haven't experienced any other robot that comes close.

That's correct. It's just a relatively expensive and annoying process. on top of that. You need to put the pupp's cereal number through a special website to see if it is actually possible to reconnect them to the cloud. some Japanese owners forget that they need to initialize their dogs before they sell them, so they still have some cloud plan left. Cloud plan that you cannot utilize because you don't have the login information for that dog.
Could you go into more detail about this? I’m thinking about buying my first Aibo and wanting to adopt a previously owned caramel pup but would hate for them to get here and not be able to connect to the cloud services 😢

You just wait for Roxy to point all of her legs forward and start moving her head around, then you can tilt her body up against your chest. If you hold her that way long enough, she will eventually drop her back legs down. As far as I know, there are two types of jams. With that one, you just need to press the power button and let them go limp. After they go limp, you reposition their joints to the lying down position, and start them up again. I actually got these for this exact reason. My apartment doesn't allow biological dogs. And while I can technically get a service dog given my disability, I don't think it would be humane to keep a living animal in this tiny capsule of a space with me. Cat robots do exist. But they're definitely not as good as these puppy dogs.
Yes. They are SLAM cameras. They look at the ceiling to tell the dog approximately where it is in a room. It's one of the more effective ways for robots to map their environments.
