- The Gulf of Maine is full of ocean-going birds in summer. They come from all over the Western Hemisphere to feast on the abundant food supply. Here are the secrets for what's out there and how to get there. Look for the puffins, shearwaters, storm-petrels, gannets, jaegers and skuas that keep company with the whales.
This was excellent. Thank you! Maine is a definite birding bucket list destination for me. I love your videos.
Amazing video!! Great tips!
Enjoy your posts a lot.
The Gulf of Maine is such an amazing place and you certainly covered a very extensive variety of sea birds in this video. Just an incredibly thorough and instructional video on identifying those awesome birds. Thanks for posting Bob. Always look forward to your videos. We're supposed to get 8 inches of snow here in South western Connecticut and staying in the high 20's to 30's. A heat wave for you 😂
Your channel makes me wish I lived in Maine.
Next to the awesome footage, these practical ID tips are why I’m watching. The guidebook probably says something nutty like “look for the hint of purple in the supercilium”. Bob says, just watch whether it is flying like a swallow.
I know, right? All these years I've been doing it wrong - making it too complicated. It turns out it's like playing poker, and your opponent has a "tell."
Seeing Atlantic Puffins would be at the top of my list to see in Maine! A wonderful video Bob and I will be sure to revisit it if I ever plan a trip out that way!
