Thanks also for the clarity on menstruation. So important for women!! If you watched this and you're like 'oh sh*t my period is much longer than 3 days', look into yoni steaming and also like John said, start honoring your cycle and become very aware of where you are throughout the month :). When bleeding, honor the downflow of apana. I don't do anything that needs bandhas the day before my bleed as well to welcome these 3 days of release. Thanks John and Stu
Always wonderful interviews. How interesting the part about the length of breath in certain postures in Suryas. I thought no one is going to talk about it ever. I practice without teacher since I live in Serbia, just from your TH-cam videos and I realized that I am choking, losing my breath in Warrior postures and also in Upward Dog, that I need extra breaths here, and I just can't wait to come to Downward Dog (the 5 breaths) to compensate and sort of rest. I don't know what to do with this, I try to follow the "rule" one breath-one move, but I see that it leads to holding the breath, gasping, stiff breathing. Hard to learn without a teacher... If only John is somewhere nearer...
Simply brilliant... I love all the work behind this channel, and this interview and the demo on the beach are just so precious. Thank you Stu, thank you John
its like what the hell are you talking about.... oh the secrets to thousands of years of practice passed down through teacher to teacher to this beautiful john scott. thank you!
Ah, thank you so much for this amazing gathering! I loved specially the menstruation part, I wasn't even so aware of this. John has a beautiful, sensible and soft soul. Thank you guys
:) Thank you both so much for these wonderful talks , much love and gratitude, I very much hope to be able to practice with you in person some day in the future :)
Thanks for explanation of various inhale/exhale dynamics. Perfect timing as "this old bod" remembers late 70's, 80's alignment style yoga (hatha). Challenged by Swedish instructor to practice short, daily (ashtanga?), poses for one year which brought post industrial accident relief. Serious dedication and practice now required. Can one commit? Visualized improvement for myself so as to enjoy perfect "let go" transition (preferably decades from now `:
Namaste . Interesting you use TM as an analogy . As a TM Sidhi meditator I see very little correlation as I have also practiced Ashtanga Vinyasa for awhile . There is no concentration in TM ; There is transcending relative states of consciousness to higher states of consciousness . So blissful . Ashtanga Vinyasa beautiful but too physically focused . Thank you for the perspective 🙏💜🕉
Ashtanga vinyasa is amazing physical practice but specifically in regards to the subtle body and mind, I'd highly recommend studying some form of traditional tantra, whether buddhist or hindu, to get a better understanding of the full picture. There seems to be a lot that this tradition is unaware of.
l think the practice during menstruation should be analyzed by each woman who practices. lt can be different for everyone. Some woman prefer to take the break, cause they suffer with pain. l practice Ashtanga for 7 years now and started to ignore this rule, not out of stubbornness, but because my body asked for it, the practice makes me feel better, stops headache and avoid the cramps. l just do the practice even with more conscience during it, especially with the steady breath. l do it with the bandas, never hurtted, never had problems.
That is really interesting to hear Women cycle for Indiens last 3 days and I always thought something is wrong with me because my period last for 3 days. I am 46 to find that out now, no Gynecologist said anything about this to me before, what a strange western world sometimes.
That why, the mind is the one who make time, when it is diving into the body, it loses the concept of time and enter in the space of no time, where the body live. The time is made of memory, the mind try to live it, repeat it every single minutes over and over until it tired and get another awful memory infinitly until end the life. Mind is the torturer of all human, nobody is able to live full life in the earth.
Love John Scott! His tangents always end up coming together so beautifully.

Very great, thank you!
Very well done guys...
Hello, with joy I discover your yoga. Where can I do a workshop with you????? Gabriela, Paris
Thank you very much for your advice
Hello Scott, where are you teaching in India? I would like to come for a workshop.
Ashtanga vinyasa is amazing physical practice but specifically in regards to the subtle body and mind, I'd highly recommend studying some form of traditional tantra, whether buddhist or hindu, to get a better understanding of the full picture. Always So Good
Hi there I just wanna ask according to this interview should a woman be doing gentle yoga during her periods or not
l think the practice during menstruation should be analyzed by each woman who practices. lt can be different for everyone.
Plus, never had problems with my period either, it is so regular it would shame german trains!
