I do agree with reminds of my dad he had the drive but had many many shops over the years he never was able to actually grow and build the business. Seems like the same here if your moving all the time it would be awesome because your expanding. But it’s you moving back into your dad’s house from what watch over the course of your channel it’s like your can’t ever expand just keeps getting smaller and smaller.
Dude, you are the best. Definitely will be buying some merch from you going forward. This video was so honest and you just seem like such a genuine good person. Thanks for everything you have taught me. I have truly learned more from you than anyone else on youtube and it's because you teach things on a level that I can fully understand. You have no idea how much I appreciate that. Thank you good sir and good luck going forward!
Thank you for this "behind the Scenes" and Money stuff. really honest and thats what I like about you and your Content. No Blingbling, just good taught lessons and Facts. You are one hell of a teacher and I will support you if I'm able!! All the best for the new shop (hopefully the last one…) and stay healthy!!! Greets from Germany!!!
Always looking forward to your latest videos, and it never matters what its about! I recommend your videos every time someone has a question that I've learned the answer from you. Probably my favorite channel I've subscribed to. Hope all keeps moving forward for you and the ol man!
When I first saw the title of this video I was worried that you were closing shop. I’m glad you’re not because I’ve learned the fundamentals of wood turning from your work, for that I say the deepest thank you. I’m glad you’re not leaving, you would have been sorely missed.
My first comment, have grown fond of your shop, it is an internet hangout for me, thanks. I'm a busy youtube viewer but your content is my favourite by far. Should be interesting watching you and your dad coexist in the shared shop! Bob
still love your channel. still learn something every time I watch something, even if it is for the 4th time. Thanks kindly, and as soon as I get work again, I'll get back to "patreon" and "join" for your channel.
16 shops is impressive. Ive only ha 8. But I also took a 20 year break from woodworking and worked as a building and fire inspector, fire investigator and Fire Marshal. Retired for several years now and have shop #9. Its small but efficient. Sold out several years ago and became trailer trash (full time RV), which i love, and have a small shop in the middle of nowhere Ne. Just bought my first lathe and finishing up the lathe stand tonight. Still waiting on turning tool to arrive. Guess Ill just have to go bird hunting, and you just never know when a trophy Jackalope will appear!
Good luck in the new shop. Spending the winter here in Iowa trying out different things to eventually stock up on and sell at next years markets. Unless of course the world ends as predicted.
Good luck with the 16th move !! I can't imagine having to shift shop that many times, I've had to move a few myself and will do again in the very near future, hopefully for the last time, I always find the proposition hugely daunting and demoralising so I'm really impressed at how up beat you are with yours , anyway keep up the good work mate and again good luck with the future !!
Thank you for the entertaining and always educational content. I have learned so much from you in the past few months and actually building my own garage woodshop to deal with quarantine. In the meantime I thoroughly enjoyed your commercial and already ordered a set of coasters! You can never go wrong with coasters, or a groove plane! (hint hint hint...) Thanks again!
It was the first thing I thought at the beginning of the video: no more car sounds. We will have to tolerate the sounds of a couple of deer walking around the outskirts of the workshop. I hope the sound of the rain continues as clear as in this one. Good transition!
When you started talking about taking on sponsorship, im sitting here thinking, as long as it is something you actually believe in, I would be willing to hear you out, then you break out the merch, and I'm ready for the ads, haha. I love it, keep up the good work.
You are getting close to the "new shop" finish line! Congrats! I know what a hassle moving is, but you make it entertaining. :) Love your work and all of your videos.
I have no doubt it's a pain in the ass to have the metal dovetail marking gauges made again. I'd buy one if you you did eventually get some made again. Oh, I'd buy grooving planes but haven't seen your pricing on those.
I liked the different uses for a shop coaster and definitely had a couple of why didn’t I think of that moments. I’ve provisionally ordered a set but please read my email regarding international shipping before dispatching.
I've started 7 shops and never got one finished. Always had to move on before I got finished. The one I work out of now was 20 feet under water a few years back because of hurricane Harvey.... Had to start over once again...
Always waiting for your next video . I live the new shirt design, maybe you could make one that says "just remove the smootch". I love your teaching style.
Man! You been hiding that comedic side! I’ve always enjoyed the instruction but this just kicked it up a notch! Will certainly peruse the website for merch. Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving.
Ian, please tell me where you get your tee shirts...the ones with the old craftsmen with the brace and bit and others like it. Trying to buy for Christmas 2020. Your neighbor in OK. Thanks and best of luck in your new shop.
Love your content and the warm way you communicate, create and share (see what i did there?). Happy to support you sir. Happy thanksgiving from across the ocean and good luck with the move! PS Where can i get a coaster??!?

Best wishes for the new shop. The sponsored ad was hilarious. Looking forward to your methodical tool storage and set up of the new shop, with limited, real world size space. Also, if you're starting turning as a focus may I suggest starting a separate channel. While I love wood working I have no real interest in turning. I believe are many in that situation, just something to consider. Best of luck in the move.
@@wortheffort My comment wasn't meant to negative, yours is easily one of the top 3 channels on wood working period. Your teaching skills are exceptional, and I have learned so much valuable info from you. My point was nothing more than if you do an extended series on turning I, and perhaps others, would wait until the other aspects of wood working start to tune back in, I certainly wouldn't unsubscribe. I realize you have a passion for turning and I feel its such a niche that perhaps a focused channel on that topic may be worth considering. I also realize that that may take too much time, however, many of the wood working channels have gone in the direction of a second channel to best meet the needs and wants of their subscribers. Either way I wish you much continued success.
@@Gotmovezlikejagga Have you noticed that most "second channels" have started returning to the fold of original channel. Second channels don't earn as much.
