    For the periodic table study, I recommend Elements of Faith from Masterbooks.

    We love using Christy’s simple studies. We are doing Middle Ages since my son is doing y2 with AO. It works perfectly. I’m using her coloring pages for burgess birds for my daughter y1 and we have america 😆 we love them because we prefer to do more natural history as a family. But it still allows my form 2 to read other books in higher level. We also love the Catherine vos bible. It’s like your grandmother is telling the story and you’re just sitting on the floor so engaged in the story. Every time I think of a question she answers it in that bible. It’s so well done.

      Love that you’re also using Simple Studies. They are quite popular! That sounds like a great plan too.
      Regarding the Catherine Vos Bible: that’s what I was thinking… like a grandma telling stories naturally.

    Love this! You could always make it special and every 4 weeks you have a Friday off so you have a four day week every 4 weeks 💗

    We have loved simple studies and the Catherine Vos Bible! Great choices for next year!

    We are using Simple Studies this year too. This summer we are using the Just So Stories guide. Then for the school year we are using the North American Animals guide which goes along with The Burgress Animal Book. We also plan on using the Earth and Sky guide to study space.
    For chemistry Little World Wanderers just came out with a beautiful note booking guide for the elemental book. She also has some Plutarch guides! 😊
    I love all your book choices!

      How do you like the Just So Stories?
      I’d love to do the Burgess Animal
      Book too! Thanks for the science Recs too! I’ll check into them for sure

    N.T. Wright just came out with a kids story Bible this year and I got it for us to use next year…I love it! It shows each days story to where else in the Bible it connects.

    My gosh, once again our homeschools are on a similiar track! Lol
    We're doing our first Simple Studies this summer too..pond creatures and night creatures and a couple for next school year as well. I just adore how she's put them together. Everything she covers seems like just the right amount of info and activity etc.
    We also use teaching textbooks. It's worked so well for everyone here except 1 child who struggles w math in general, so we are considering Denison math for her for pre algebra.
    We're switching to Beautiful Feet for American History ( your review of MOH solidified my choice) but will likely return to MOH for ancient so I'm looking forward to your review of that this upcoming year!
    We are using voice of the martyrs and the books you recommended for geography next year. 😊
    We're switching up nature study this year..I think we're going to give five in a row fall/ winter then spring / summer studies a go. 🌿
    We're adding in Shakespeare this year to our circle / group time too! ❤

      This is crazy! But I do so love finding like minded mamas. I’ve heard good things for Beautiful Feet too so I’m sure you’re going to enjoy that this year! Love Voice of the Martyrs! We stopped for summer and I’m missing it so much!
      Are you following Ambleside for Shakespeare or choosing your own?

      @@DownHomeWithLemonPie I bought Tales of Shakespeare by Charles and Mary Lamb, and a play/ study from Simply charlotte mason. I'm totally new to teaching Shakespeare so I'm a little intimidated! I've checked out Ambleside in the past and LOVE their suggestions but always get overwhelmed looking at everything and wondering how to manage so many kids while using them!

      I know your question wasnt for me, but I do! It was how we began our homeschool adventure. We have SUCH fond memories...some of my older kid's favorite homeschool memories! We used FIAR vol.1 and Before FIAR. This upcoming year, we're using Vol 1 and 2 for my next group of youngest homeschool kids. They are really looking forward to it after hearing all the stories from their older siblings ( now aged 18, 17, 16) and seeing all the pictures we took during that time.
      It's the kind of curriculum that u can easily make your own and do as much or as little as you'd like. An excellent resource that I used was the blog delightful learning. She has EXCELLENT ideas correlating w each unit / book by FIAR volume. She no longer blogs but all the info is there.
      Feel free to ask me any questions!

      Great suggestions here! We had a similar experience. Loved it for the youngest ones. It’s also good for teaching you how to incorporate books into other subjects and move the learning along. Using that knowledge, I have broadened our scope and chosen our own books occasionally and then created little lessons using the same approach. Our favorite was the Before Five In A Row. I also did one this year and found a secondary resource I also really liked called Story Stretchers. I’ll link the video where I talk about it.

    Sounds like a good year! We’ve been loving AO this year (Y2 and Y3+) We are also starting MP Latin this year 😅 for an into to Plutarch we love Beesley’s Stories from the History of Rome. Next year we will do MP Famous Men of Rome. Curious to see which Shakespeare plays you pick. I’m so undecided!

    My daughter just finished Archimedes and loved it! I just came over from your God schooling vidoes and wondering if you're no longer using that approach? We're Charlotte Mason homeschoolers too but I've been wondering if we should take a more relaxed, unschooling approach. Our oldest sound similar ages- mine will be 13 in September and my youngest girl is turning three, with three boys in the middle.

    • @DownHomeWithLemonPie

      Welcome!! We have always used a blend of homeschooling approaches but primarily Charlotte Mason which works very well with Godschooling. I love letting God guide and direct us as we go, so we take a relaxed Charlotte Mason approach where I don’t focus on following word for word a particular approach.

    • @LionWolverine
      @LionWolverine 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DownHomeWithLemonPie thank you! Would you recommend the God schooling book along with a Charlotte Mason approach? I'm trying to determine if it's worth purchasing the book 🙂

    • @DownHomeWithLemonPie
      @DownHomeWithLemonPie  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For me, it was such a release. Like a breath of fresh air away from the world’s constant ideas about what learning is versus what it truly could be. I think it’s a huge investment as it gives you so much reassurance that we don’t have to structure our homeschools after the traditional school systems we all know.
      I think it’s definitely worth buying to reference throughout your educational years with your children.
