This class guide series is a complete breath of fresh air from the usual content we see for World of Warcraft. Even though I know half the stuff I'm still excited because of how well you're infusing comedy into your videos. Great job, I can't wait for more from you.
Mage was my first and favorite class in WoW. I used to hang out in neutral cities with guards on the PVP server I leveled on. I would cast Detect Magic on Horde priests. They would usually dispel it off of themselves. If I timed it right, I would cast Detect Magic a second time right before the Horde priest would Dispel Magic. This would cause my mage to become their target and lose Arcane Intellect or Dampen Magic. If that happened, the guards would kill the priest. Many laughs were had when this happened.
That sounds like a lot of fun. Can't really decide if I should play a mage or a roque. I guess I would like the mage better gameplay-wise, but I also like funny world pvp, where roques tend to shine.
@@Preacher_. I played Rogue but it wasn't for me. I like Mage and Paladin the most. But i quitted Classic anyway. I don't want to pay 13€ a month for a lazy implementation of an 15 year old game. Private Servers are better scripted than Classic and are available for free. I play on Warmane - Icecrone which is the most populated private server. If you're not disturbed by the fact that you can pay money for good gear, you should give it a try as well.
@@dunkelwelpling I actually played on Ascension WoW (NOT blizzlike) for a while before Classic released. I don't mind the $15 a month for what I'm able to get out of Classic. From my experience, private server players were hardcore minmaxers, and while that still happens in classic, especially on the main Servers (Herod, Faerlina, ect), I noticed it's much more similar to my retail vanilla experience in terms of people's skill level. On Bigglesworth Horde I actually feel like an above average player, where as on Ascension(a different, accelerated version of WoW that was built for min maxing) I struggled to even keep up with the meta. As far as playing old games I can't really complain. My current lineup of games I play are AoE2 DE, OSRS, and WoW Classic.
@@Preacher_. The sub you pay for OSRS is what i'd be ready to pay for Classic. And even then i would have a bad aftertaste, because i don't think Blizzard has earned it. Maybe when TBC will come out, Blizzard will provide different subs that are cheaper if you only pick one game. I have zero interest in Retail. I heard a lot of good things about OSRS and i don't mind the graphics but the Gameplay looks so boring. Can you explain how this keeps up your interest? I'm gonna buy AoE2 too when i'm finished with StarCraft II.

@Username OoOoh, using Whirlwind and Bloodthirst as they come off CD with OP(-50) & HS(+50) fillers. How intricate and complex!?! 🙃 Man oh man, if that wasn't enough you guys have to spam execute durring the execute phase!?!?! You must have to be a Master Tactician to figure that one out! ....... Our PvE isn't complicated my dude... There's some skill when it comes to survivability and mitigating raid wiping fuck ups, but that's not intrinsic to any class.
This video is sooo much better than the typical Vanilla class guide on TH-cam. 90% of them are just some dude talking with generic footage saying "oh yah know, mages, frost build, can't go wrong". High quality content.

This is actually a good guide. Comming from some1 who has never touched wow in my life i can get a good understanding of what mages do. Also saw the warrior guide. Havent seen the others but from these 2 ill make a mage first then warrior

Mages blow in Naxx40 when the AoE DOTs do more than your max Health, so watch out for that - I didn't enjoy those times even though I was in the top content for the game; constantly hopin Ice Block was off CD, so I could survive a Trash Mob pull was only but so fun.. lol Mages have high survivability due to Ice Block, Mana Shield, Frost Shield, Cold Snap, Cone of Cold, Frost Nova, Frost Bolt and Blink. So they do nice damage, along w/bein able to survive big fights in PvE and PvP. They also bring Portals to the table for extra money, if you charge. I only had issues w/highly geared Warlocks pre-BC, since they're the anti-Caster Casters w/pets that can Spell Lock and/or Seduce you, while they spam DOTs and regular casts. It's difficult to burn through their large Health pool, while also losin all of your Buffs, Seduced, Spell Locked and/or gettin Feared. If they're not highly geared, then just Counterspell their Shadowbolt and win.
Yeah started in vanilla ....rolled a mage....then got to lvl 10 time to decide a spec. I chose fire mage.....i stated to really like my fire mage. Some people have suggested you should be frost. I was like nope i like this fire mage... Got to lvl 60 and my guildies said _grats! Now go switch to Frost..._ I'm like but i like fire mage. _Yeah but you utterly useless in endgame_ I felt so cheated... i flipped off the GM and /gquit started a PVP guild. Just returned to WoW since leaving during Legion I am glad my fire mage is no longer squishy...
What i always asked myself: Why aren't Elemental-Mages going for Frost and Fireshield-Reflector in Talent trees? In Frost you could easily take the 20% dmg bonus and one out of frostbolt/frostbite to get the 2points there and take some in fire out and get the 2 there. It's a coinflip, but it's hella rewarding and much better in terms of defensives, since you dont have ice barrier. Reflecting an Immolate oder Fireblast often determines the outcome of the Duel. I always take those 2, combined with Engineering trinkets you are basically immortal
I am new to WoW, played it a little in BFA, got to level 80, but can not wait for classic, because there will be less spells and stuff like that, can not decide what to do either mage or a warrior, horde :D what would you recommend, thanks :D
Mage is a great beginner class due to it's simple gameplay and easy to understand concept. You'll also make decent money with portals and since you're a pure DPS class you won't have any issues farming for mats at end game. Highly recommended for any new players out there!

Mages have a ridiculous toolkit when it comes to pvp.
Their is more to the game than raiding though, and like others said, most classes raising rotations are pretty boring while raiding in Classic.
