Where are the Render Settings? This is a common issue apparently, but I can't find a solution. Everyone just says "copy files from previous successful installation", but that is no help if you've never had a successful installation. Please help?

I cant open the xml file in kerythea.....every time I try it kerkythea says that the given 3d format can not be open :(

go to the kerkythea program itseld, and then look for the file and open it there

It probably will be. I use Sketchup for doing 3D concepts of control panels with accuracies down to 0.1mm but it can do much better than that.
