What an awesome beauty! Puffers are the most exciting fishes to watch in aqua tanks in my opinion. I got 4 Dwarfs and each of them has a special personality. They are fun to watch. Hello :) if you have dwarf puffer fish i recommend to keep them by themselves because they like to nip on fins and tails of other fish. If you really want to add fish get some fast swimming fish like neon tetra :)

But he's got one hell of an appetite, brother! I love how he looks at food outside the tank with such longing, like a kid in a candy store. 😂

Nice set up since would say it's overcrowded but GSP are messy eaters, so it's good having the extra help. I have to move to a bigger tank but I have a mixed community tank as well.

Hello smorc655 :) This kind of pufferfish is a molluscivore by nature. So his main diet consists of snails, mussels, crabs. Therefore he is not really interested in hunting fish. His body shape does not make him a fast swimmer to catch fish anyway ;) - thanks for watching my video and supporting my channel !
smorc655 FYI, most puffers that I've had do not like being surrounded by this many hyperactive fish, specially when they're eating. They get grumpy. My best success has been having them with some fish but not too many.

It’s the fish that it’s size and reside at the bottom. Small fish it won’t really eat unless its unreasonably aggressive. Aquarium CoOp keeps his with lots of guppies.
An MBU needs lot of space, but it's an only freshwater puffer. Because it's getting so big it doesn't fit in normal aquariums And they are a little bit tricky with other fish, some are gentle some eat there mates
+Angelo Charalambous Yes! :) i feed him with snails, crabs, mussels, shrimps. I buy them at my local fish market frozen with shell. Pufferfish need to wear down their teeth otherwise it will affect their health. Once a week i put some special fish multivitamin into a mussel and give it to him. Beautiful setup! Can you give me your opinion on something? I'm really wanting a MBU, my daughter really wants some of the dwarf puffers. From what I have read, the dwarf puffers don't care too much for other fish. My question is, if I had a pretty good sized tank, appr 400 gallon scaped to setup some territories for the other fish, do you think the MBU and some dwarf puffers could share the tank fairly peacefully? I really like the idea of having such contrasting sizes with the puffers. Any advice would greatly be appreciated! Thanks!
Nathan Smith both dwarfs and mbu puffers are hit or miss when it comes to aggression.Obviously the dwarfs wouldn’t attack such a large target .however since dwarfs are just so small I’m comparison I’d think it would be fine just make sure when adding them together your mbu is plenty larger than the dwarfs so he pays no attention to them.
The MBU Puffer is a fairly docile Puffer. Unless he is really hungry, he will not hurt other fish in the tank. MBU Puffer can co-habitat with other fish, as long as they are not competing for the same food.
Mbu will, but mostly accidental. Imagine something like a tetra or whatever trying to get some of the mussels that he MBU is eyeing on. YOu can pretty much say bye bye to the tetra lol
I cant bleave he didnt eat 1 of the small fish that was eating his food its like he opened it and let them eat some then he ate the rest thats cool if thats what it really did

Hello Aaron, it is a freshwater pufferfish. I do not add salt to my aquarium water. However this type of pufferfish prefer slightly hard water and where we live we have hard water so everything is great ;) And he is a molluscivore by nature prefering mussels, snails, crabs. Puffers go after fish too. He almost seems to be very nurturing towards all his little friends, very tolerant. I was surprised to see this.
