You teach a game like no other, Rodney! Great job getting into the nuance of Dice Throne. It's very accessible, and your explanation helps to clear up any misunderstandings people might have with the basic timing of the game. Very cool!
I think this version of Dice Throne is more appealing to me personally because My friends will more easily understand the game because they know the heroes. It's easier to explain Black Panther's moves than, say, a Moon Elf, thanks to the movies and comics.
Great overview, as always, Rodney. Love the graphics you’re adding to your videos! Tip for new players: each hero leaflet also ranks that hero’s complexity from 1-6. Start off playing heroes with a 1 or 2 complexity. They’re just as much fun to play and just as powerful. What makes them simpler is they are straight up damage and defense. You don’t have to deal with getting token A so you can exchange two for token B or power your defense unless token C is in play which means…😵💫 This way, you can get comfortable with the game mechanics more quickly. 👍 Welcome to everyone discovering the Dice Throne family for the first time! "When Black Partner and Miss Marvel wanted to get some time alone to train, Thor follows them and won't leave them alone." That's my thought of a good scene with these 2 characters after watching the video. Now I wish it was made into an actual Marvel comic. (It would be good for Valentine's Day.) Also, one thing I wish is that in the future, a game similar to this comes out, but you can build your own custom decks from a large pool of cards for each character, and/or a general deckbuilding-type game where you start with starting decks and dice, upgrade your deck by adding new cards and trashing weaker ones during the game, and upgrade your starting dice by buying new dice/face and trashing weaker faces/dice. I know that idea is complex for a board game, but the idea of customize decks and dice during the game might work one day (Combining Dominion and Cubitos together.) Anyway, nice video. I might look into the game myself one day to try it out. First they use general known characters, and now Marvel comes it. I think I see a mistake at 4:45. Captain Marvel's leaflet (seen in the video) doesn't say she has to spend Radiance to use it. So the Radiance token should have remained on her hero board, right?
Very good catch - an unfortunate oversight that I chose to use "that" power as an example, because, as you say, that one doesn't require spending the token to trigger it.
I'm not sure I stated that (but I may also be misunderstanding the question - do you have a time stamp for the section you are referring to?). I usually have time stamps in my tutorials, but it takes a few days to get them up.

This is very newly announced, and is on kickstarter today. I don't usually cover games on kickstarter until they are releasing, but they were able to get me a copy that is 99% finalized (aside from some tokens being shaped slightly differently), so I was happy to do it, and hopefully it'll help give you some good information on whether or not you'd want to back it - or if you pick it up down the road at retail, this tutorial will still be valid.
Auto-translations are done by TH-cam and it's been a long time issue that sometimes TH-cam auto-chooses random languages instead of the native language of the video. No idea why it happens.
Figured it would get views here. Watch out people on Facebook are scamming people "selling their pledges" I was one of the unfortunate ones. I blame myself, just wanted to get the word out to be careful.
Hey there, I'm always happy to try to help with rules questions, but if the answer is provided in the video, than I have to direct you there. You'll find an index in the description to help you find the section you might be looking for.
Hey my friend and I were playing the edition with Loki and Wanda and had a question. So Wanda has an ability to “steal” a positive status effect from a character and apply it to herself. In this case lokis positive status effect is called bag of tricks, it can be applied to himself or enemy players and is resolved at the beginning of the turn. It’s resolved by rolling one dice and the number determines the outcome, if a 1 is rolled the person with the bag loses 1 cp, if a 2-5 is rolled then Loki decides between 1 of three outcomes, and if a 6 is rolled the player gains 2 cp. all the logistics aside this is about the 2-5 range. If Wanda uses her ability to apply bag of tricks, can she apply it to Loki or does she have to apply it to herself? And most importantly does Loki still determine the outcome of a 2-5 is rolled because there is no clarification that Wanda has control over bag of tricks outcome, just that she “steals the positive effect”
I do my best to answer all rules questions on the games I cover, but I avoid individual card effects, as that's a level of detail beyond what I can manage across all the videos I do. Is this not available yet?
This is very newly announced, and is on kickstarter today. I don't usually cover games on kickstarter until they are releasing, but they were able to get me a copy that is 99% finalized (aside from some tokens being shaped slightly differently), so I was happy to do it, and hopefully it'll help give you some good information on whether or not you'd want to back it - or if you pick it up down the road at retail, this tutorial will still be valid.
Thanks Rodney! Great video as always :)
Dice Throne was already gorgeous, but now with Marvel characters? Wow!!
The back of the cards need to be character-themed, though.
they sell sleeves for each characters
they got sleeves for that on the kickstarter that are an addon
LOKI?!?!?!
Hello i'm from thailand , i curious that why this video has not auto - translate to eng ( it only traslate to korean) ,Thx
Yay.
If both my opponent and myself are at 1 life and I roll an attack for 1 and his defense roll deals 1 damage to me, what happens then, who wins?
I'd suggest checking the rules forum for the game on BoardGameGeek or the publishers website. I hope you can find your answer there - have fun playing!
This shows 1V1. Can it be played with 6 players at once?
Correct.
Wow!!
Didn’t know there was a marvel version

@@WatchItPlayed ahhh big hype. I am a marvel fan so I might get it hehe :)
Just dropped on Kickstarter about the same time as the video released if you want to go check it out
@@chriswilson198 what’s that? Getting it now? :)
They should have made more villains, Ultron/Thanos/Baron Zemo etc......
It'll be interesting to see what comes out down the line.
This should be put into a mobile game
Maybe some day it will be.
Whhhaaaaaattt?????
Offensive role phase l made me think of insulting someone while you roll dice. I would not recommend doing this as it would make the game not fun.
Good advice :)
