Jake thank you so much for making this video! We took your course and automation and Ableton has helped us out GREATLY! It has improved the overall worship experience because people don’t get distracted by wrong slides and our music quality increased because of the confidence from the guide cues. We have connectivity issues like you experienced as well. Our “quick fix” has been shutting down our Ableton Mac after every use for our church services. This works for us but I’m so PUMPED you showed us a solid product we can buy so the disconnects won’t happen (or at least we hope so haha). Now to save up $250 for each product! Haha Thanks for helping churches improve themselves for God’s glory 🙌🏼
Great video! We just purchased a new 2019 MBP i9 for keys patches in Ableton. I’m using network midi setup to trigger patches from our “tracks” computer and it Loses connectivity regularly, which is scary! This right here would solve that issue. Great video brotha!! I don’t know if you realize how many lives you are impacting with all your videos. I’m in charge of implementing Ableton at our church here in Visalia Ca, that seats 2800. Majority of how we implement Ableton has came from your content such as how we do Tracks, multi ProPresenter, and now evolving into keyboard patches and lighting. Love your heart for the church brotha! Keep it up!
You should only need 1 Iconnectmidi4+. There is 3 USB inputs which can run three computers or iPads or iPhones. With a LAN you can send signals to the FOH and BOH using iconnectmidi4+. Unless I’m missing a piece of the puzzle? Are you bypassing a DMX interface and using only the iconnectmidi4+ ?
I've been fighting the same issue with the mac network midi glitching constantly since around April this year. My 3 windows machines running rtpMIDI never seem to have an issue, just the mac. Do the iConnectivity boxes work with standard rtpMIDI implementation, or would I have to get a box for every computer, not just the one flakey mac? If the iConnectivity box shows up as an available device in the mac's network midi setup, then that should mean it should work with the stable windows rtpmidi too.
Just curious but what is the point of having multiple outputs on an interface like the iconnectivity PlayAUDIO12 ? I understand during a live performance with Ableton you could use the outputs as an individual pathway for a track. Is this true? Are you able to do this with 12 tracks ? allowing sound to come out of the PA in better quality? I play with 4 tracks coming out with one stereo input now from my Behringer um2 interface. When I play live my sound isn't as big as I want it to be. The percussion seems to lose its punch. Thanks! Looking for advice here.
I have an I connect midi2 for keyboard stuff and I love it plug and play and very customizable....can you have a Mac computer connected to a PC....like a Mac running Abelton on stage sending midi ques to a PC in the tech room
Never had a problem just using the Audio Midi Setup Mac to Mac. But you said you disabled IPv6, which you should not need disabled, and shouldn't have it disabled anyway. IPv6 is the future of the internet.
I noticed that issue too and it happens when you let it runs for a long time, what I’ve done to solve the problem it’s to restart the audio midi setup and ProPresenter
Great to see you running our gear Jake. We've recently replaced the MIDI4+ and mio4 with our new mioXM interfaces, if anyone is looking and not seeing this piece of gear. I'll note your idea for a smaller interface with our team. We are always working on new product and new ways to make things work and think about our worship industry friends. Appreciate all the training and equipping you do. Keep up the good work.
iConnectivity Support I just got the MioXl and it doesn’t work As i thought it would do it. If any one wants to buy one of this and think that you’re going to need only one you are wrong, it doesn’t talk with another computer 💻 with out having a second one
@@Erickm-z8q It can actually talk to multiple computers with just one if you need. Message our support team and ask about it. It's definitely possible.
@@iConnectivitySupport Love all your interfaces. I have concerns about the MioXM/XL only having one USB port for the reasons stated in this video (ie, the Mac's built in rtpMIDI support being unreliable). For me, the entire MIDI studio window will often lock up and then any app that tries to initialize MIDI will also hang until I reboot. When I had the iConnect MIDI and Mio4 I'd just connect them to my A and B machines over USB and it would just work. On the upside,
@@thisiscentralcontrol Note the way Jake sets this up would still work the same with our new mioXMs. He's only running 1 USB from a computer and connecting the 2 interfaces with ethernet. I would say it's actually pretty reliable. They have had certain OSX versions that isn't the best like 10.14.5 but then they usually update and get it working like in 10.14.6 What is a pain with the RTPMIDI on mac is that you have to reconnect the ports on startup. With our interfaces you can have the interface initiate the session with the computer instead of the other way. You can also connect without our new AuracleX software AND you can connect our interfaces together(like in the video).
Hi Jake. Thanks for your great tec vids on this channel. I am a PC user and i got a question. Is it possible to run ableton on a PC with iconnectivity hardware and a mac with propresenter and iconnectivity hardware, so the pc can send the commands to the mac?
Hey Churchfront family! Is he saying that iConnectivity Mio4 will maintain the same connection strength as iConnectMIDI4+? I know they have different features but if all I’m wanting to do is connect Ableton to Pro for slide automation will the Mio4 do the job? Thanks!
Hey Jake. Quick question, Can you use the iConnectivity +4 to run tracks at the same time as using a looptimus foot pedal? thanks man. Also, Should I buy the iconnectivity+4 or wait for the track rig to be back in stock?
"We will know that Apple doesn't care about..." you don't need to say more than that. Lol. Unfortunately, my Windows solution for MIDI over the network isn't much better. This looks like exactly what we need to fix the problem, and is cross platform compatible. Another piece of hardware you may look at is this USB extender: www.amazon.com/dp/B01NCU90S3 . We use it to put the audio interface for Ableton in the sound booth, and just run a single Ethernet cable to whatever we're using Ableton that Sunday. It has 4 USB outs, so you could put this MIDI extender on one, you audio interface on another, maybe an Novation on another (your example, not mine😁), and have all that in your sound booth to clean up your stage.
I hadn't heard of iConnectivity devices before. Good to know. I recently put together a video of how we do a simpler midi setup th-cam.com/video/yHqoz95aSW0/w-d-xo.html similar concept.

He doesn't want to use the Mac's built in rtpMIDI support because its unreliable, so he has an iConnectMIDI on both ends to handle the rtpMIDI.
I use this to automate switching snapshots on my in ears mixer from my venue whenever a different band goes on the stage. Super convenient.

Yes you can. You can download "rtp midi" on windows, it's the equivalent to Mac's audio Midi setup, the interface look's the same.

The AUDIO4+ can use the Looptimus pedals and run all your audio.
Laptop specs?
Hmmm. Good, good. Just watched to verify you said 'switch' and not 'hub'.

Stay positive. First thumbs down I’ve given one of your videos. The passive aggressive comment at 0:25 and dig on the device name isn’t needed.
