thank you for listening and appreciate Jonghyun. Jonghyun was, is and forever will be the greatest vocalist that Kpop could ever have. he can do magic with his voice. he can bring out every single emotions with his voice.
I hope things get back into a better groove for you soon. I'm always gratified when someone who understands the technicalities of singing says that what I feel in my bones is true ‐ I don't know anything technical at all, but I can't help but believe that Jonghyun not only had an extraordinary voice but knew his voice and range inside out and knew exactly how to do what he wanted with it at any given moment. It often seems like Jonghyun is living a song more than just singing it. He defined music for himself as telling a story, and it seems to me like he felt the emotion of whatever he sang very strongly and shared that with every fiber of his being. Recommendations... I love Moon, very Prince-vibey but with Jjong's added twang. If you go for the only live performance of that I know of, though, you may have trouble focusing on his voice (he is very shirtless and the choreo is very sexy). Y Si Fuera Ella, at Shinee World Concert 2, is legendary for the emotional depth of his performance (fyi, the staging is pretty theatrical). Elevator is beautiful... ...I would happily list everything of his, actually. I'll stop there for now. Some Shinee recs, if you haven't done them: Romeo & Juliet at Shinee World Concert 5 (Jjong and Onew especially kill this) Orgel... not sure which Shinee World Concert, but haunting, eerie vocals and music Moon River Waltz, from Boys Meet You Japan Arena Tour - lovely ballad, intimate camera work so you're basically right next to them on the stage. Please Don't Go, gorgeous by Onew and Jonghyun from Shinee World Concert 5.
He definitely sings like he is telling a story! From his vocal nuances to his body language. He kept proper technique with the scrunchy face which was keep his placement forward. I also forgot to mention it in the video but he is also using a lot of what I would call smiling vowels which added a brightness to some of the lines he sang, and he then switched it to more of an "ah" shape which gave a heaviness to the song. I wrote down the songs the songs you suggested so I will try to fit those in over the next couple of weeks. Thank you so much for the well wishes and thank you so much for watching!
