    "IT CAN DO IT ALL"
This is a sub £3000 gravel bike build. It's based around an alloy frameset from Kinesis. It can run 700c or 650b, has tons of mounting options, and is hardy as hell. Built up with a Sram Rival eTap groupset - I have this groupset on my road bike. It's very, very good.
    Specs of the build:
    Kinesis Tripster AT
    SRAM Rival XPLR Groupset
    Sector GCA 650b Wheelset
    Travail Rutland 2.1" tyres
Selle San Marco Dynamic Shortfit saddle
    Zipp Bar, Stem and Seatpost

I've been riding and racing gravel on my Tripster AT for four years, just passed 10,000 miles on it. Rival 1 has been reliable the whole time. The bike is an absolute tank and a supreme joy to ride. Even took it out for my first CX season and it performed wonderfully. It's the pinnacle of what aluminum can be. I'm pretty sure if I ever had some freak crash that broke the frame, I would order a new one before the sunset. I love my Tripster. Highly recommended.

Stunning. Not knocking the other builds, I've loved watching them all, but nice to see something nearer the lower end of the budget.

Haha the handing the chain breaker- 'Here. I halp!' Another great build vid thanks. It's actually super useful giving ball park prices on these builds. As lovely as it was 14K for a bike is a tad excessive... I can actually see myself owning something like this though. N+1 and all that.

Hi Nick I am just cobbling together a 1 x Sram Tripster for the Winter. Having brought the frame second hand boy was it difficult to get the rear brake hose through the frame. Did it by running an inner gear cable etc. So I am getting there. The part I am stuck on now is mounting the rear brake caliper. I have brought the small mounting plate as much as I try to see it on your video I cannot see whether you fit the bolts from underneath or from above. Given there is no thread in the location holes I assume you use nylock nuts as well. I understand from kenesis the bolts are 22mm long but they didn't specify the thread diameter.I would appreciate it if you could give me as much info as possible. Thanks. Or indeed you Jimmi .

Another cracking build - something closer to a bike for mere mortals. Unless I've missed one, so far every build is SRAM; is that preference, availability, cost, or just luck of the draw?

DUnno - but pretty sure it's just under. It's a 'custom' build so all of the parts are to customers spec/budget. If you're UK based give Nic a shout. They can ship bikes to anywhere.

I have them on my gravel bike, Emily does on her’s, and Nic sells lots in his shop. They’re good. They’re defo not bad, in my experience. Pretty sure Nic has specced them on my new gravel build (building in a few weeks).

Another nice build video Jimmi 👌 mate the silver chainring is that the force/red and what size is it? As the rival ones are none in stock and long wait & the force/red ones are available 😅… I’m wanting to get the 38t as my gravel bike came with 40t with 10-44t rival but want to change the front ring to give a bit more easier gear to pull my heavy ass up + loaded up steeper hills 😄 . Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m sure the rival chainrings come all black?

    • @Jimmidoesstuff
      @Jimmidoesstuff  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Hey mate. Yeah, think you're right. It's a Force chainring moved over to the Rival cranks for the required ratios for the customer. If you're UK based maybe e-mail the shop. They may be able to sell you the required chainring and post out.

I don't disagree. My first proper road bike was £600 in 2011 and I remember being amazed I was willing to pay such a bonkers amount of money for a bike.
But based on the current landscape for bikes. This bike legit is good value. Especially when you compare it an off the bike equivalent.

About to build one of these. Did you have to face the disc caliper mounts or bottom bracket?
I built a bike from a Kinesis RTD a few weeks ago and the level of finishing on the dropouts, bottom bracket and both caliper mounts was no existent and facing showed the BB and mounts were not square 🫤
