  • To draw bus wires (BUs) in KiCad, you can use the "Bus" tool available in the schematic editor. Here's how to do it:
    1. Open Schematic Editor: Open your schematic project in KiCad's schematic editor.
    2. Select Bus Tool: In the toolbar, locate and select the "Bus" tool. It typically looks like a straight line with a slash across it or labeled as "BUS."
    3. Draw Bus Wire: Click on the starting point of the bus wire and then click on the endpoint to draw a straight bus wire. You can continue clicking to add segments as needed.
    4. Label the Bus: Once you have drawn the bus wire, you can label it to indicate the signals it carries. To add a label, click on the "Place" menu and select "Label." Then, click near the bus wire and type the label name.
    5. Connect Components to the Bus: Connect the pins of components to the bus wire. You can use the "Place Wire" tool to draw connections from component pins to the bus wire.
    6. Repeat for Multiple Signals: If the bus wire carries multiple signals, you can use labels or annotations to indicate each signal's name or function.
    7. Adjust Appearance (Optional): You can adjust the appearance of the bus wire, such as its thickness or color, using the properties editor.
    8. Validate the Schematic: Once you have completed drawing bus wires and connecting components, validate the schematic to ensure there are no errors.
That's it! By following these steps, you can draw bus wires in KiCad to organize your schematic and represent buses or groups of signals efficiently.
