  • Three pedestrians with a deathwish within a few seconds of each other !
All got my usual “wakey, wakey” call 😀

You also can replace the horn and install a Stebel Magnum TM/1 with 139 db for example. This might be more effective 😏. I will get one but first I need to find out how to replace it on my SR GT.

Good old pedestrians. 😂 I am taking my CBT on 16th November and hopefully will pass. I have had a taster session with Saltire on a SYM 125 and it went OK. On my shortlist of scooters is the SR GT and I have watched yours an many other videos, to try an narrow down the field, too much choice! One thing I did find with the SYM was that the CVT gearbox was slow in engaging, highish revs. and when it did it was quite sudden, zero to fifteen or so quite suddenly with little or nothing in between. How do you find the SR GT, is it smooth from take-off, or is it something I will just have to get used to? Thanks in advance from a fellow Edinburgian (if thats a word).

Hello, good luck with your CBT, you’ll pass no problem. A CBT is all about listening to the instructor and coming across as a sensible person. You’ll make mistakes, I’ve made plenty over the CBT’s I’ve taken, but it’s not a test so don’t stress about it. Doing a CBT on a scooter gives you a head start straight away as no gears ! I have no issues with the acceleration on the SR GT, it’s very smooth and easy to handle, in fact an ideal first bike. Nothing wrong with Sym’s, they make some good scooters, could be the one you tried just needed a tune up or a new set of rollers. Let me know how the CBT goes, never used Saltire myself but I’m sure they are very professional.

Hi Simon, as promised an update. I did pass my CBT but now have decided to be a little controversial - I have bought a Can Am Spyder, easiest option for pillion without the need for the full bike test. Safe travels.
