For anyone doing this job the bushing side isn’t supposed to be tightened until there a a load on it or you can jack the hub up to ride hieght then torque down , this sets the preload on the bushing so you don’t tear it. Good job otherwise
The maintenance manual does not mention that in fact, it says to tighten everything then install the wheel lower the vehicle, and check the alignment. But thanks for the info.

The fact there is no grease may be the reason it went bad as well.
That is usually the #1 cause of a failed ball joint.
