This song is significant because it was their return from hiatus after the lawsuit. It's like the opening act for B.A.P. part 2. Unfortunately, after the hiatus, they were never able to regain their initial momentum. The core fans stayed, but others left to follow other groups. Some people who liked the early heavy rap songs didn't appreciate that their music shifted to other styles (like Feel So Good. Some people have no taste 🤨). For whatever reason B.A.P. just were never able to reach those heights again. It's a shame, because before and after hiatus, they were exceptional.
momentum is such a hard thing to maintain, and for one criticism that I have for kpop, they seem to really like to move on if someone falls behind even a little, I think that's why TWICE has stayed so popular, they have like four comebacks a year haha! the moment to build it back would very much be a monumental task, but if anyone could do it, its them.
If one thing is strange for me regarding kpop is how quickly people expect the groups to move on from one comeback to another. in the music industry it's normal to wait 2-3 years for a new album, but that one year hiatus was enough for bap to lose a lot of fans. really strange how kpop community works like that. still a little bitter about it lol
@evacados truth! And you know, I feel like where my journey in kpop I find really interesting, people demand so many comebacks, in metal there have been times I have waited 8 to 10 years for a single comeback of some of these metal bands
I got to know them around this time, and this song took a while to grow on me, it seemed to lack something the first time I listened to it and Zelo's rap sounded weird to me. However now i really like the huge anthem sound of it with the vocal moments. I think watching it live helped a lot. If you can watch their comeback stage in show music core 20151121 it was pretty great. The song in itself is very significant for the group and the fans because they came back after the lawsuit and declared, we're here, we're together and we're better than ever. I remember other fandoms came together to support this comeback too, but they couldn't maintain the momentum with the public with Skydive and then Feel so Good. Still, the song still feels exciting to me. I have to say that they really grew into their "image" like their badass stuff started sounding more authentic to them and personal. The early stuff is fun and great but it did feel a bit like kids playing revolution haha which is why I never got into them back then. They were always super good, just grew into the more mature grittier sound. They did a contest called the reaction awards in which fans submitted their reaction to the mv, and they reviewed them all and reacted to the reactions and chose a winner haha.
I could imagine everyone's surprise to their return, I could see this being a bit if a hopeful moment. I would tend to agree, it feels like that they really were quite mastered by the end of it all. Had that imagine down to a science
@@Killdeer25I've been told it was fun! But I missed the promotion cycle by a few months so I didn't get the experience in real time. The videos of them reacting to the reactions are still in their old channel tho.
I found a translation for the spoken intro : As if the sky has collapsed The wind howled loudly Many hardships and tests The whole world among those, The way we wanted it, The way we were thinking, It had no intention of flowing our way But we held our hands again The six of us, with our two feet Together, so that nobody falls down, Got ready to run again Young, Wild and Free In the end, the world Is our story Pretty powerful stuff. I do remember yongguk talking about how he was so afraid that they were asking a lot of the youngest memebers and what if they just ruined their whole careers and dreams with the lawsuit. The position the oldest members especially and him as a leader, were put in was so awful.
I have yet to hear the whole thing, I have listened to a few songs. they were horribly mistreated by their company, its almost like BTS's story but in reverse. They were beloved by most and basically tortured by their label
@@Killdeer25 interesting, why would their company do that though? It doesn't make any sense 😕 Also I thought they had scandal or something? It wasn't the case?

Reaction to B.A.P - Hands Up please
you got it! when I return I will do hands up!
Cool looking mv. I don’t like this song as much as some of the others but it is solid.
yeah, its not my favorite, the MV is super sick though
Have you listened to RM's latest Album?
Also what happened to B.A.P? Why are they not around anymore?
