Great analysis ! The indigenous plant you refer to is called Fyn Bos and pronounced in South Africa as 'fain boss'

No pinotage? Ah I get it, that wine is so good it deserves it's own video!

Hi Maxime, thank you for watching and for commenting! I would love to cover some Pinotage soon! When we put these tastings together it's a matter of logistics... seeing what we can source, what's available and also coming up with groupings that make sense together. But yes, great point... Pinotage is exclusively South African and I think we should cover it!

Thank you do for being honest about the racial history of wine in South Africa. We have great wines but it’s mostly a white dominated industry. Loved watching every minute of this video! 💕

I know isn’t it terrible that the cultures which created wine are still the best at it? The wine industry is doing well in South Africa and is one of THE last white dominated industries in the country for the aforementioned reason.
The bigger picture is that as a country South Africa has rapidly gone downhill since the end of Apartheid. In fact, SA is the poster child of why diversity doesn’t work.

What do you mean when you say the wines are 'clean'?

For me, a "clean" wine is one that leaves your palate feeling fresh and not too weighed down with tannins or oak flavors. They're vibrant, fresh and light and don't leave your palate feeling like you just ate a meal in a glass, or chewed on a piece of wood.
