The fact that Crystron, Metalfoes and Zoodiac is still Alive as part of meta till now.
It's a testament to just how wacky and unchecked card design can be sometimes.
But its only like one card per archetype lol
I think they did defeat VFD. In the new metalfoes support, there is an art work show the dead body of VFD, while one of the metalfoes gain Vanisher power.

I like how it's implied Vector is just the devil and Luster is the stand in for god and then they mixed in some geomancy and alchemy.

I'm really curious if they're gonna call back to this any more, because pieces of Tierra seem to show up at the end of World Legacy, and also the branding of the Despia and the Abyss REALLY resembles the Qli especially the Monolith that revealed the Infernoids? Aaaaaaa I want this combined multiverse
Do I wish Konami would give explicit detail for lore? Absolutely, but I also feel that due to the ambiguous nature of card lore is also very rewarding.I also find that examining the real world inspirations for the archetype to be very helpful in finding educated story elements that the art may not fully delve.
In particular with the draco saga, there are numerous references to alchemy in the art and written lore. Without writing an essay putting microscopic analysis, this generation of story has many interesting parallels after study of real world, classical alchemy.
In particular, the “main” hero luster pendulum’s journey mirrors the rebid or the final product of alchemy. A rebis is sometimes described as a divine hermaphrodite, the joining of male and female qualities into one physical body. This final stage is called the magnum opus, which translates simply to great work. This term is often used outside the realms of alchemy as a way to reference a masterpiece of an artist and seeing as the Konami localization team loves to use puns as names for cards it isn’t really a stretch to infer a connection to “Master Peace”.
Besides the blatant puns, the card art itself alludes to the four stages in alchemy to create a magnum opus. The blackening is the first stage and represents the destruction of master peace which leads to luster and vector’s first forms. The whitening is the second and represents the eliminating the impurities which represents master pendulum and lector. Note that purification is not defined by a sense of morality, rather the optimal qualities of the elements which aid the alchemical understanding. The third stage is the yellowing or the transmutation of silver to gold. This is the merging of both lector and master into Master Peace the dracoslayer. Masterpeace’s gold armor appears to reinforce that theory. Finally, the reddening which is the culmination of the magnus opus to perfect singular state. A classical symbol of this pure final state is the Phoenix or the six point star. It is no coincidence that master peace’s helm is similar to Mariamne, the dracophoeinix and that the shield is almost identical to the six point star. Finally we have konami’s draco rebis.
Now this might not be a story but along with the art, this understanding helps as a guide map to place cards in the story. It allows for clarification on confusing art or omitted parts of the story not found on a card. As I conclude my long winded and broken promised short comment, there are more allusions to alchemy in the element tribes, amorphages, naturia sacred tree, and true dracos in alchemy. I encourage anyone who wants to go down the rabbit hole to do so because the satisfaction and mind blown fun just adds to the love of certain yugioh archetypes.

Yeah, I agree, the story walks that thin line of 'I wish I knew more' and 'the mystery is intriguing' that really drives interest.
And I've gotta say, I never would have thought to apply the Alchemy info that far. Honestly, I thought the 'Dragon Alchemy' was named that way to sound cool, but it makes sense the way you present it. I had seen those four stages when researching Eldlich cards, but this takes it to a whole new level!

The True Draco Kings are explicitly references to the Bible in the original Japanese, by the way - the reason Calamities gets referred to as 'VFD' is because that's an acronym for 'Vicarius Filii Dei' or 'Representative of the Son of God', which to cut a long story short has to do with antipapal conspiracies involving the antichrist. Mariamne is a reference to either Christ himself, or based on its name, the Virgin Mary.
And this is very interesting also because the whole Duel Terminal 3 arc has massive references to Jewish themes, from the Qliphort to the Zefras (qliphot and sephirot) and several names and themes we find in the original names of the Shaddoll (I'll just mention "El Shaddoll Nephilim" or the actual tree of life appearing from Naturia Sacred Tree (Qlimate Change); heck, we have an actual biblical reference from the Genesis in Qliphort Monolith's Japanese lore ("Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:")
Somehow it feels at least fascinating how Old and New Testament seems to be used as reference for DT3 and the chronologically subsequent - at least from a booster release perspective - Dracoslayer/True Draco lore

Also, I think that you could do a video on the lore of Aleister the Invoker and his connection to Spellbooks, Endymion, Magistus and Witchcrafter. It's actually one of the most interesting stories within the game, despite not having flavor text to explain the connections.

Dinomist just feels good. Set scales, pendulum summon, swing with the team, then do it again. Everything is so simple and fits together. It really is the best intro to pendulums.

Damn this really is Gem-Knight Crystal's Bizarre Adventure, eh? I'm surprised that you didn't mention the connections between Master Peace and Crystal, being main characters that fuse with evil forces and eventually ascend to a higher form, or something. I'm just left here wondering who Genius is from duel terminal...
Actually... After this video I went through some duel terminal lore to have a read-through, and I have a theory that mariamne(?) is actually Gem-Knight Lapis... Let me explain.
I saw another comment on this video that reminded me that mariamne resembled Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth immensely. The red horns, golden hair, gem in the forehead with wings either side of an elongated face. But how is this relevant?
Well, remember Sophia and Tierra are 2 sides of the same coins, Rebirth and Destruction respectively. Well, was, until Sophia destroyed Tierra's body, took her power of destruction and put her into the Sephiroth system(or SOMETHING like that), but we can assume she resembled Sophia a great deal -they were basically sisters.
Infernoid Tierra even supports this, even having been made from machine she still looks somewhat like we assume she used to, like Sophia and Mariamne; red horns, long face, gem in forehead, even having little frills as a substitute for the wings. Honestly, Tierra in this form resembles Mariamne more than Sophia does imo. Tierra's "hair" is flowing backwards around the horns instead of Sophia's forward-flow style. Even in Tierra's final form she has 6 limbs and multiple wings (made of machine and fire) like Mariamne. So what about Lapis?
Well she was the 1 character that was necessary for Tierra to ascend to Godhood after Sophia had destroyed Tierra's body. And remember, in Zefra Providence, it's Gem-Knights Crystal and Lapis that leave this world to go to heaven, or some other world, having caused too much pain and suffering their souls decide to leave this world, not belonging anymore, walking into the light of the Sacred Tree.
And so when Lapis and Crystal crossed over something happened that meant they were called on, probably to repent for the evil they had done, and separated. Lapis must've been reborn to resemble Tierra as they were fused together at one point, as if she inherited that form. And Crystal as Luster. That's an entwined theory which has Lector and Master pendulum being the 2 halfs of Crystal/Zefracore, Lector/Vector resembling the corrupting fusion magic aspect of the shaddolls but in dragon form and Master/Luster resembling the collaborative-style fusion of the Gem-Knights. And I have another ANOTHER theory that Metaphys Executor is the one who is "in charge" of these separate dimensions, and it's the one who brought Crystal/Lapis over. But that's SUPER tinfoil hat that has no evidence except for Executor's symbol resembling the Yang Zing's 😂😂😂
But that was my theory(s) a very long time ago, with the addition of where Mariamne came from. Your video brought elements to light that I hadn't even considered. Though, I think that the glory of these storylines is that its all interpretation, even after we get the master guides sometimes especially so haha. I'd hope that I'm not right in a way, because then it's like my story -kinda. Like, a lot of people don't think the Zefra story is connected to the True Draco one, and that's fine! It's literally as real as we perceive it to be. Death of the author, something-something. You get it.

I've been waiting so long for a good video on the dracoslayer storyline and this was far and away the absolute best ever. I never noticed the ouruboros and how it correlated to master peace, and i was blown away at the ideas you put here. I'm really excited for the new sets that seem to be expanding old storylines and thank god this one it's getting it too since it was left in a huge cliffhanger.
Btw, did you see the new metalfoes fusion spell with calamities dying and releasing three color lights and the -i think- corrupted metalfoe?

Something interesting to consider, the amorphages are all earth attribute. If they do ever give us some meaningful expansions of the lore I wouldn't be suprised to see a heel turn from dreiath if that's where he's getting his power from!
I didn't realise this until now but the story of Vector and Master's story sounds a lot like the story of Knight and Satan Gundam from SD Gundam Gaden, down to re-combining back into a golden dragon.

I was brought to this video because I'm trying to learn how to play Dracoslayers, and oh my god, the lore of this archetype is amazing.

@@GoldenNovaYugioh Parametalfoes Fusion has one of the metalfoes fusion monster taking something multicolored from VFD, so possibly.
I have a theory as to what this means. Master Peace gives up the powers that made him the True Dracoslaying King, returning to the True Dracoslayer (because that card is banned irl lol). The metalfoes then learn to harness the powers held by the True Kings and True Dracos (same archetype, same powers) and the Metalfoes, Zoodiacs, and Crystons turn on Master Peace and the Disciples of the True Dracophoenix because of the immense and world-ending power they wield. I want to say that Master Peace gets armor that matches the above archetypes from sympathizers that are retrains of Luster Pendulum's extra Deck forms, but that's unlikely.

I probably found a strange connection between the Dragma archetype from the last video of the series to this one. If you look at Luster's armor from the beginning it is silver plated a possible nod to the affiliation of the Church. After which his golden form is brought up from which we can see a small but noticeable blue wrap siding the chest armor plate possibly being in relation to the Tribrigades.
Also this "hole" that you have been mentioning is probably the Different Dimension which probably has brought forth the different archetypes/monsters in the game of Yu-Gi-Oh. As such the purple markings in the last video from Maximus's hands correlate to the purplish vapors from the Metaphys archetype since their primary function is to banish cards.
Note: This is just an analysis I've made at face-value, anything could be wrong with it so please, if there are any flaws with it, let me know.
I find that lore discussions don't happen all that often in the game and this allows for new players or experienced players to at-least appreciate the way Konami designs it.
As an addition to this I'd like to point out that the color purple and other derivatives of it have made appearances on cards that support the Light/Dark (Chaos) Attribute. So I believe it is further justified that the Different Dimension has brought this as well.
Hey, even if it ends up being incorrect, the important part is that we had fun trying to puzzle things out! I can guarantee you half the stuff in this video is gonna be disproven in the next few years, so I'm right there with ya!
Yeah, the blue sash with the chain on Luster/Master's armor is a striking but subtle detail. If it ends up that that's the cloth that the Tribrigade have been wearing, I'm going to go nuts (but, like, in a good way)!
As for the stuff about the "Hole" I wouldn't discount it. I'm already convinced that everything is in on big multiverse, so that's as good a thing for it to be as any!

12:41 that's not really an ouroboros. An ouroboros is a snake (or serpent) eating its own tale in a circle, while this is simply two creatures who are forming a circle.
Strictly speaking, you're right, it doesn't fit the definition.
I hope you'll agree with me that the imagery, though, is certainly evocative of one, especially if it does turn out to be true that the two little dragons make up two halves of Master Peace, because then it would, in a rather esoteric way, be a serpent eating itself.
What’s your take on zefra Metal tron lore wise the sry connects tru Draco to Zefra right ?
Zefra Metaltron is currently my White Whale. There is, as far as I can find, NO SOLID CONNECTION between the Duel Terminal World (Zefra) and Dracoslayer Saga (Metaltron).
HOWEVER, Avida, Rebuilder of Worlds, from the World Legacy story, CLEARLY has Qliphort Cores (and a number of other aesthetic flourishes I won't go in to here), so there IS some kind of connection between World Legacy and Duel Terminal, and it's LIKELY that there's some kind of Multiverse shenanigans going on because of the number of characters who just VANISH at the end of their respective stories...
...but we don't have anything more to go on about it right now. VERY SORRY for the huge response, I am very passion about Zefra Metaltron discourse xD

I would say, I don't feel like that was the intention, but it IS a theme that continues across not just the game, but as you said, the anime as well. So while it may not be part of the canon, I think it makes sense as part a broader THEMATIC canon, if that makes sense.

I believe I'm referring to Sacred Tree Beast Hyperyton! It has little to do with Sylvans aside from being a Plant Xyz monster, but it certainly LOOKS like a Sylvan.
