I'd love to know how worked out these bass lines were by McCartney, and how much he just intuitively played by feel. So many flashes of brilliance in them, I do suspect he just used muscle memory and played off the existing track from 66 onwards.

Well according to many sources he got this from a dude in the Caribbean. Which makes sense as it’s got that style to it. There are also records from around that time and place that use this.

Complicated? Mainly just an arpeggio over different chords and not a whole lot more. Nevertheless still a lot of fun and a nice bassline :)
