Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema is addressing the Sadc organ troika summit via video link from Lusaka. He has not pitched up in person at the venue of the Sadc summit in Harare, which is a significant development in the context of Zimbabwe's fraught relations with Zambia. Hichilema is the outgoing chairperson of the Sadc organ on politics, defence and security co-operation. Handing over the chair to Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan via video, Hichilema emphasises the Sadc organ's crucial work of "consolidation of democracy, conflict mediation and regional security and stability". Lusaka, the Zambian capital, is 30 minutes away from Harare by air. There is no official explanation for Hichilema's decision to address the Sadc troika summit via video link rather than in person.

We have no beef with Zambia , actually our liberation fighters had camps in Zambia, this ED is crazy , we don't have leaders in Zim, only corrupt thieves & a gang of criminals. Those in positions should be ashamed, how can they plunder and destroy a nation like this! Come-on you Zanu you failed way back just step aside enough is enough. Even the countries they hide behind like Russia & China are great countries & those leaders are doing great things in their countries.
