Since Earthbound was such an important childhood game for me, it's always really cool hearing about someone who didn't grow up with it, but was still impacted by it in some way. I know that I love it, but hearing such an expression from someone who discovered it more recently is really special.

It wasn't just a game, it was an experience.
I played earthbound about three years ago using emulator (shamelessly) on my phone, and beat it in a month, or so. Boy that was my best experience in gaming. Especially the music, they're awesome.

Earthbound will always be a special game for me. It was the first game I was really excited about owning as a kid, and one of the first 0-day games I ever bought. The twist is that I was excited about it because I saw an advert that featured Master Belch and, as a young boy, was tickled by the idea of an RPG with burp and fart jokes. The fact that the game turned out to be so much more surprised and delighted me even as a sixth grader. It's been one of those games that even now I still I pull out from time to time and give another play-through. Thank you for this medley; I think I'm going to go find my copy of Earthbound and introduce my son to it.
