Bought one last year and drove UK to Spain. It was a LHD one so now registered in Spain and living its life in the sunshine. Hasn’t missed a beat since I bought it. Love it.
The 200 was a bit of a donkey, I remember driving one and there would be a lag when you pressed the pedal before it actually took off. But still a classic and you can enjoy the build quality and ride
They all did that thanks to Mercedes (in)famous "long travel throttle pedal" of this era, even the '94 E320 I drove felt sluggish off the line because of that in comparison to other makes (having come straight out of a Honda Accord). You do get used to it in time though. Cheers!
Nice car! I've had 3 W124's over the last 20 years, currently have a '92 300E-24 and I think they are fabulous motors. One of the best 'modern' classics out there.
Owning a 1990 W201, I’m not going to argue with you. They’re not dynamic or possess brilliant handling but they just do everything so well with simple mechanics and brilliant build.. for the MB brand they may never be bettered!
Great car i agree however the chassis is amazing . senna famously raced the 190e 2.3-16 . his pace was due to the fluid chassis. I have owned several 2.5-16's and still drive one. Great cars!
It’s so annoying because, as you say, 8 more years this lovely old car becomes a historic vehicle and is fully ULEZ exempt at that point 🤬🤬🤬 Absolutely right it’s a complete scam!
Great car, bulletproof engineering on those models. A steal at that price too, a good purchase gents. I look forward to future videos, nice work Lucas and Joe.
Hmmm...when I think of a W124 I dont think of the 200E or E200! 😂. The 200 especially in auto is a dog!! Once up to speed, it goes ok. But stop-start isn't good.
Lovely stuff!! I was looking at one for sale just like this! BUT l have just gone and got myself a W201 190E 1.8 ! Very excited as I’ve always loved these old mercs
I was fortunate to have own 2 124s, a Black 230E saloon and a silver 7 seater S124 300D which l took up to 273k miles, they are quite literally carved out of a block of Granite
Tell us you don’t understand ULEZ. Almost any petrol car from 2001 onwards is compliant. If your car wasn’t compliant you could get £2000 for your car. More than enough to buy a ULEZ compliant car.
Good on you for keeping these classics on the road and away from ULEZ.

What a lovely car! Great that you saved it from the dreaded ULEZ which is killing so many cars in London.
Quite possibly the best MB ever made - from their golden age of over-engineering! You did well there!
Absolutely glorious i currently have a new mecedes a200 but i would love a w124 like this and get away from too much technology.
Greatest era of Mercedes

The W123,W124 and W201 are the best ❤

Already know what the BIG road trip is - but looking forward to it anyway. Not long to the big day.
Now you got my two favourite cars mate. The white W123, and now the W124. Nice!
W124,W201 and W140 are the greatest.
Coming from a long term W221 owner 👍
W126 ?
@@BEGGARWOOD1 a great car but the three I mentioned were the last of the over engineered/built regardless of cost models
Like these. Great practical no frills solid car.

They really don’t make them like that anymore. A proper Merc 👌
I don't know anything about this motor car but you made it interesting to watch with more excitement to come!! TY both for sharing 🎉😊🎉
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good ,solid, and honest motoring I'd say.

We’re already keen!

Very brave filming in that part of Reading, surprised your camera wasn't stolen!
Another of your videos I really enjoyed, going to get the magazine
Awesome! Thank you!

I had a 200e manual w124 and a w124 auto 220c 3 years ago I now have a 1982 w123 230e best built mercs ever
Well done! Glad I live in South Africa where don't have such cr@p as ULEZ. Beautiful Bruno Sacco Mercedes' are art.
Fantastic car. Poor aerial is affecting the radio for sure.
Fantastic old car
It sure is!
Surely, there must be a method of reducing the NOx level to meet LEZ/Euro 4 compliance?
Catalytic converter plus ECU upgrade?
Gingercators. Love it
I have just bought a 1988 s124 200 carb !
Gingicators 😂😂😂
I love older Mercedes-Benz.
I don’t know why bloody ulez is allowed it’s crazy
@4:28 anyone know the website he is talking about where you can put in the vin ?
Gingercators 😂

My 2002 Range Rover 4.4 wasn't. That was a ULEZ rescue.
A colleague has an X350 that isn't, too.
