    Deacy is the most underrated bass player… to everyone except Queen fans. We appreciate his genius. I love his solo in this, I just wish there was more. I love how he quietly vibes away, he doesn’t want the spotlight, but he enjoys himself on stage. And YESSS do Keep Yourself Alive live at Montreal.

    Freddie was a rock star when he wasn’t.

    Switches of tempo and mood, this feels like a sequential song with a one word chorus, fascinating. And Freddie is so bloody young.

    Yes, they used this part of the melody at Wembley concert in 1986, just before the song "Tear it up". Just check.

    (1970 Freddie brian and roger formed Queen their first gig in june charity,71 john joined them.dec they made a demo which was payment to help test out sound in a new studio roy saw them and the got involved with trident and recorded their first album 72 released 73)
    Queen Album 1973 July
    UK came in at 47 and peaked at 24
    us 83
    neither Brians keep yourself alive released July 73 or Freddies Liar released Feb 74 made the charts
    they didn't get much airplay
    in that respect it's good they still reached 24
    they recorded the album in 72 Trident studios (deead time when no one was paying to use the studios) but no one would release it
    Trident took achance on it and released it in 73
    I can't get clear info why they were doing recordings with the BBC but they did quite a few so that gave them some exposure
    (As well as the uk gigs they did,73 they supported mott the hoople in the uk so were at better venues)
    Freddies My Fairy king was their first song to be played on the radio in Feb 73 on john Peels live sessions 5 months before the albums release but it wasn't released as a single
    they still had the oportunity to keep recording
    Queen 2 rec August 73 to Feb 74 and released in Feb 74 this time it got to no 5 uk with freddies seven seas being their first single to chart at no 10 uk
    this time they had luck in being able to perform on Top Of The pops,seven seas of rhye before the release of the album
    (because Bowie couldn't,problem with the recording..not sure how Queen were able to get involved but good that they did)
    slow to get started but once they did they took off!

    the guys from Ibex,he was with in 69 said what you saw with queen was exactly how he was with them in small gigs in liverpool no different
    I need to note their names i keep forgetting,sorry, but one of them said he tended to play with his eyes closed and the first time he was playing to open his eyes to see Freddie on his knees at the side of him was a bit shocking but they soon got used to him!
    up North was a bit more reserved than london!
    I think London had to get used to him as well!

    Somehow I never watched this reaction of yours before. I must have missed the notification but "Now I'm Here" (another great Queen song). I really love the performance at the Rainbow, everyone gets showcased and everyone smashes it. I always smile during the little bass solo on the live because John is usually so good at blending in but there, he shows off those talented fingers of his. Brian's guitar work is spectacular and of course Roger on drums is the engine that is driving the whole song. Then there is Freddie...sigh!! his vocal dynamics on that performance are incredible. You really must react to that live version. Studio is excellent but as you know, there is nothing like Queen live. Thank you for your great reaction, as always.

    Freddie's outfit here always CONFUSED me because there's no HAIRY chest! I always figured it must have some kind of flesh-colored body suit underneath or something.... but then Brian & Roger were talking about what they call Freddie's "chest rug"? Apparently it's a joke that goes back to the time when Fred decided to shave his chest for some reason... I'm guessing this must've been it!

    • @davethomas6216
      @davethomas6216 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes Freddie for some reason shaved his chest for this video

    • @debramoore7513
      @debramoore7513 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, I heard that Freddie had shaved his chest hair before! Maybe it was for this video!! I have a friend who met Freddie in 1974 on a hotel balcony. He remembered a few things - Freddie was wearing lounge pants, barefoot, shirtless, just washed hair, smelled amazing, dark gorgeous eyes, perfect skin, and the hairiest chest he’d ever scene!! 😜💞💕

    Think about this for a second. You are listening to the studio version dubbed over the live video. And it matches 'almost' perfectly. Make of this as you will but Queen live on stage or on record always gave the same. It's called truth and consistency. Talent.Profession.Idealism.Love...etc...etc...

    I love Freddie, but people assume that his theatrical approach brought the harmonies to Queen.
    NOT TRUE!!!
    This pre-Queen track by "Smile" shows that Brian & Roger were doing the harmonies 4 years earlier.
    You should react to this 😊
