Love the content, what makes it so great is that you do everything in one video instead of dragging it on like some youtubers do. Can't wait for your next one.
Looking at this, I think my Astra that I bought earlier this year is probably on par for value with this one. Mine is a 1.6L mk3 Astra Duo (a special edition) with only 27.5k miles on it and the whole car was in mint condition (minus all the dirt and mold in the interior). And to top it all off, only £250.
Great to see that you quickly managed to restore the vauxhall Astra and make a quick profit. The parts are cheap and for this 2000 is in great mechanical condition. Keep up the great work - and thanks for updating the car one video shoot !
Liked & Subscribed! Awesome little buys/flips like this can’t be beaten at £845 delivered that’s an amazing workhorse will carry on forever buyer is more than happy & you’ve doubled your money it’s a win win. Keep it up buddy👍🏻
To echo everyone else's comments, savage content mate! Best bit being it was one really well out together video. Not a drawn out 10 parts series filled with absolute waffle. Keep it up 👍🏻
@@JackMcNeillCars Do yourself a favour and inform your subs that these Telegram me things are a scam and nothing to do with your channel, I've seen it on other channels before. Well done on the Astra, that paint transformation was really impressive.
Great vid bud. Short sweet and to the point. Love seeing these with real sub £1000 flips. Should continue the series and trade up.. keep going till you have a super car 😂
Hi jack, very entertaining video especially for me as l am staunch General Motors fan . It’s not just European Gm paint that oxidises so terribly, I assure you my 97 Camaro is afflicted in the same way. Re the doorskin , you may want to consider for future reference the space hopper/inflatable ball trick. Simply deflate the ball and place it inside the affected panel, gradually inflate it whilst applying hot water or hot air to the outside of the panel and as long as it’s not creased to death it works a treat I’ve had a fair bit of success in the past with this, Hope it helps you too All the best Jay 👍
I had the 1.7cdti on an 05 plate lovely drive but had numerous issues with it electrical gremlins and egr the petrol ones are the best ones. 👌 and they were galvanized so never rust like the previous model.
Great transformation Jack Little bit of a tip for you mate all your plastics to renew and make them look like new ceramic coat them seriously works amazing you won't believe it till you try it once again excellent transformation of the astra brilliant daily driving car does everything you need them to do 👍🏼👊
Probably a bit expensive for this level of car. A quid on some baby oil is a surprisingly good trim restorer though and probably cheaper than the electricity running the heat gun!
@@adammcallister2260 It won't make the plastics brittle like a heat gun does either. Oil-based trim restorers are the only way to do it, even peanut butter works in a pinch.
I bought a k11 micra some years ago for £150 that had full service history and 26k on the clock, not a single thing wrong with it was mint condition except From a passenger door damage, bought a second hand door but in a different colour for £30 and used the car for several months. Bargains are out there and I have come across a few
The heat gun draws the resin out of the plastic to the surface, which makes them appear " blacker " however this is at a cost. The resin provides plasticity to the trims, and now will be very very brittle. Cheap fix to sell a car on, if you intended to keep it other methods work better
Knowing where there is a plentiful supply of cheap parts helps. I have a few sellers on ebay that sell new old stock and business clearances. Bought a £200 Passat TDi a couple of months ago, spent £250 on it and sold for £1650
@@flippingcarsrepairs try typing the part number in ebay and sort results by lowest price. Can't remember off hand the sellers I use but I'll try get a couple of names
As it stands, a 1.8 8v Astra sells for around £250 without cat, battery or alloys to the banger boys. You could probably get £20 for the battery, £60 for alloys in scrap and the cat will go for a fair bit also. Could potentially break £500 as it sits
FYI, using a heat gun on those plastics will make it much more prone to cracking just sitting about now. People with Minis do it to their scuttle panels and then wonder why they crack when then check their brake fluid level and battery.
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars, trucks and busses including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime!!!!
came out well , they always polish up and i think people dont know it can be done . find a new supplier for wipers though that price for those was ridiculous
Nice onee I've been thinking about doing this for ages but just feel nobody would buy the age of car so not bothered.. might try now.. also the scratch repair on the rear arch could have put filler in then sanded down and painted would have looked better than just a cover spray :) good vid keep them coming make it a series I'm interested
Nice video bit later but use peanut butter on the black trim cost 20x less than cleaner and the natural oils within the peanut butter will darken for plastics ..get some partridge paper and spread on that leave on plastics for about f 10mins then make sure you wipe off as you don't want the car smelling like peanut butter lmao I used this method for deacade plus even on my RC plastics lol 😂😂
This brings back so many memories as a young child my dad owned a silver Vauxhall Astra from 2000 and he somehow crashed it into a brick wall! It remained a Clean Title and instead he bought a VXR bumper from the scrap yard to rectify the damage, and I just checked this car's history (the numberplate was W554 HET) to find It was previously Rolled back and Crashed! And its off the road 😭...
That's just amazing restoration, if you want a good idea also is so put some good engine flush before doing the oil change, and injector cleaner in the tank ;)
News update I just had my roof cleaned first time in my ownership what a huge difference my car looked. I have drove it up to London a few times.. I recently had a wheel bearing done with 4 spark plugs it drives nice a new rear exhaust would make huge difference. I feel once I go this far I will improve the whole car which means a body shop to do the paint work. It seems 100% safe where I park it away from home..as outside my flat the car was quietly being destroyed.
Hi I am Tim Real new to this channel I am old skool guy 58 I own a few vehicles one such is my Vauxhall Astra Convertible 52 plate (private plate P12 ENN) its A metallic blue car done a lot of miles. It has rear quarter damage minor scratches. Think I've owned it since 2016. Generally I've never bothered much cleaning it. Due to health issues I used to love cleaning my cars I did have a garage at my parents house which I had the chance to buy even though my dad had bought it. His new build garage was Lush.. The car had new engine from a 60k car before I owned it. I only gave £350 for mine. I love your simple cleaning attitude it works.. So many videos go to far on wheels wheel arches and so on I believe its a car clean product sell. Red is a bitch for fading but you may have caught this car in time.. Who knows.. My dilemma the previous mot was a stinger alternator and belt the old snapped, new battery wiper blades caliper brake pads to name a few parts £635 on mot.. It should have been scrapped but my plate is worth £650 all day long. So this years MOT I was dreading it And phoned a marketplace Astra convertible guy he offered £650. Do I carry out a gentle re-furb and get it in tidy respectful condition or do I search for a really low mileage example..? Great video Tim
The catalytic converter in that car is worth at least £400, fact! Remove the cat, sell it to tmet. Replace it with a universal cat for about £60 and that will be good enough for the mot for about 2 years. Profit
Vauxhall Astra mk4s are awesome cars hence why I'm on my 5th had I have seen that for sale I would have snapped it up to go with my w reg 1.6 8v estate ☹️
I need an indicator for one of my cars. That costs 170 quid. Edit end of vid, a clear coat on the headlamps and some sort of paint protection will give it a year or so more life.
this is what a flip series should be like. and not like that jesse guy who videos i do watch, but doesnt seem the best approach. yes you spent money on the car rather than a swap, but you made something more worth while and didnt add modifications.
Make this a series, and use the money you have made to buy another car to flip/ trade and see what car you can end up with.
This is what I do and its bloody hard at this moment in time 🙄
It’s Mike Brewer you need
Leave some for the rest of us ahhah

Totally agree. Getting to see the whole thing through to the sale makes this video top quality.
Love this! I had one identical, early sport. Mine was T702 UYA. Was perfect until some old woman reversed into the rear quarter and wrote it off!
Love the other cars and the big projects but seeing quick flips like this seem more relatable that entire rebuilds too!
Well done transformed the astra looked clean and presentable after. I'd say around the 800 was a good price
Quality video, would definitely like to see a trade up series with the profit

Did you really take the rear number plate off pulled the grommets out and double sided taped the plate on. So left two holes for the boot to rust 👏👏.

Absolutely love how you get the whole process into one video. Brilliant work.

Love a bit of classic Vauxhall pink. Nice work.
good effort, people look down on these cars but they're damn good workhorses and there's a big market for sub £1k cars, especially nowadays.
If you polish up the paintwork, it will only go faded again in a few months🙁
Not if u treat it maybe rub it down with some wet and dry and re lacker the paint to protect it and then polish it.
@@dubzuk3710 👍 but if you just polish it and do nothing else it will fade again
Marks problem now😀
That's not his problem. If he went down a different route with the paintwork he probably wouldn't have made a profit
