- Animal pool party and sanctuary vlog!! Since the gator ponds are currently vacant it made a great swimming pool for me and some of the animals! They all seem to have a lot of fun in the pond and it was so cute to watch everyone swim!
I had a lot of people asking about whether or not the animals would try to go back into the water once they are gators in there and obviously we have a giant fence surrounding the pond that will stop any of these animals and the gators, obviously! Comet is flightless, as are the emus, so no worries about that.

Until I saw your babies I had no idea emus not only swim but love it. Funniest looking dino ducks I’ve ever seen! Couldn’t decide is Comet liked it or was frozen in horror. I’ve seen wild turkies around bodies of water but never in the water! Was nice to see you two relaxing. It also lovely to see how much you two care for the animals.

It honestly baffles me that people can ask what happened to the dinosaurs after watching emus for any amount of time. They just grew beaks. I see them and immediately flash back to Paleo and our trip to Utah and the dinosaur trackways. They could easily have made the gralators.
Especially when the emu is wet and the feathers pressed down they look just like a dinosaur!
@@GatorChris_ Mini T Rex! And dinosaurs almost certainly had feathers. I think one of them (the paloe folks) said raptors likely used their feathers to balance on the backs of their fleeing prey to kill them. Kinda like ostriches, I suppose.

Impressively fearless emu. Your gator pond needs that foot-valve & you probably need an aerator to treat the water with oxygen. If you do add an aerator then you might design in an air-lift pump, they can lift the water almost 50% as high as the depth of the water. I was thinking like a fish-tank where you'd probably could have an air-lift pump installed where you would have that foot-valve as they must be at the bottom of the water & can't be in the center of the pond with the gator. The the air-lift would pump water & debris onto a filter-pad to oxygenate more before returning into the gator's pond. Treating the pond with oxygen might be easier than cleaning it as often by hand.

And a small kiddy pool to put in the aviary and have it super shallow to see if all the birds take a little bath in it. You could also see what the bigger birds do in it too in their enclosures
I wonder if you could get some kind of paint or glue that you can put around the top and on the side walls of the gator ponds and then you can put sand or something on top of it before it dries so you don't slip into the deep end of the ponds when gators are in them

A Solar Hot water system would be great for your pool! Paired with a Solar Pump, you would stay toasty on on cool days.
I wonder what the kwadis would do in the kiddy pool too
They would shred it into small chunks of plastic that Chris and Gabby would have to clean up during their next Poop Patrol. Maybe have a "pool pool" to bet on how long it takes the coatis to make a kiddie pool unusable.

Has there been any updates on petunias health? I remember you guys mentioning she was neutered incorrectly before you guys got her. I apologize if it’s painful to speak about
We had been told she had cancer from that vet, but after talking to other people we’re starting to doubt that prognosis

#gatorchris hey just wanted to let you know Turky's fly. Not far but they make it to the top of the fence so they can enter the enclosure. And the emu's once grown can go over the fence if they want to swim. I only found out turkey's fly when I saw it in a video. Same with emu's owners post them and talk about if they wanted out they could just go.
Hey just wanted to let you know, I think I know my animals and setups a little more than you might ;) Comet is a flightless variety of specially bred meat bird. Wild turkeys fly great, I’ve seen about a million of them living here my whole life. That’s not what comet is. He cannot fly. He can barely run. It’s also impossible for an emu to make it over the gator fence, it’s above and beyond what the state requires by their standards and I’ve worked with emus over a decade. I think I got this covered
