    Absolutely beautiful, I’m just starting out and it amazes me how beautiful tumblers turn out and so many different ways to customize them. I’m trying to learn as much as I can.

      No worries on using different colorants together! You can use inks, dyes and paints together to achieve the colors you’re looking for!

    stumbled across your video while browsing and I LOVE THE WAY YOU TEACH. One of the best on here...or so far the best in my opinion. One question...I have friends and relatives who would love the beach look wine glasses...but since i do not have a turner...how could I do it..or how to build a turner or buy one???

    • @SandysOrganizedChaos
      @SandysOrganizedChaos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a tutorial on how to build a turner. But there are a lot of great small businesses that build them. You can also go onto Amazon and find cheap one-turners if you are just looking to make a few cups.

    • @SandysOrganizedChaos

      Yes, the glasses need to spin once the epoxy is applied so it has an even finish.

    Hello. I just found you, and am loving your channel. I want to start making these for myself and for family members. I put together my first glass vase where I painted the stem with gold paint, and then applied applied gold leaf to the vase, but there's lots of spaces on the glass that's still exposed (I applied a varnish on top of that, and stayed up half the night scrubbing it off bcz it wasn't clear). It's cleaned up now. If you don't mind, could you please let me know if I can apply epoxy to the entire vase? Also, would the top of the glass still be clear with no streaks? Thank you in advance for your help, and for sharing your wonderful talent. Blessings.....

      @SandysOrganizedChaos  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello and welcome! So happy to have you here! I would epoxy the glass. Make sure to use a kitchen torch to pop your micro bubbles once the epoxy is on the glass and it should come out clear and streak free. Just quick motions not leaving the torch in one spot for too long. I do this for about 2/3 rotations of my glass on the turner and then let it be.

  • @TKelly-kd6fy
    @TKelly-kd6fy ปีที่แล้ว

    Since I have nothing to rotate the glasses on, I am going to try doing with blowing alcohol inks and see what the effect will give

  • @rochellelebovitz5309

    New subscriber, love all your videos, and you have probably answered this already. I would like to try this process and purchased some Art Resin to seal with which claims it is food safe. Do you apply it all the way to the rim of the glass or just on the part with the ink?

    • @SandysOrganizedChaos
      @SandysOrganizedChaos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you look at the rim of most wine glasses there is a little bit of a bump out. I stop right below that. You could also use tape to give yourself a little bit of a rim around the top as well. If you use tape make sure to remove it before your epoxy has cured. Just something small so the epoxy isn’t draped over over the rim of the glass.

  • @annknower4603

    Can you sell glasses like this, or would you need to cure them in the oven?

    • @SandysOrganizedChaos
      @SandysOrganizedChaos  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No need for an oven. The epoxy cures on its own and is ready to use after a full cure time of 72 hours.

    very nice! this will be put on my long list of projects. a couple of controversial questions. i see you epoxied up to the lip of the glass. im sure you used food safe resin, but there are those who swear there is no such thing. your thoughts? second is why are you not wearing a mask? people seem to panic about resin with no mask, but honestly, ive watched hundreds of videos and never seen anyone using one. thoughts?

    • @SandysOrganizedChaos
      @SandysOrganizedChaos  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great questions! The epoxy I use is FDA compliant and meant to be used around food and drinks. I use my epoxy in an open environment (my garage) that always has proper ventilation and airflow. I always tell anyone working with epoxy to reach directly out to the makers of the epoxy you use for any questions. They will always have the correct answer you need. I like I using Alumilite and I highly recommend subscribing to their TH-cam channel. They have lots of great information straight from the source. I will attach a great video they recently made about safety. th-cam.com/video/mr1E9v_9fww/w-d-xo.html

      @@SandysOrganizedChaos ive used ks resin, and alumilite, both are food safe and hi temp. I also work in garage, most of the time i wear a respirator. but sometimes i forget. I also run a fan to blow outside

    • @SandysOrganizedChaos

      I use Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast which is FDA compliant.

  • @XenaWarrior95
    @XenaWarrior95 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    How can u drink from these? Epoxy is toxic?

    • @SandysOrganizedChaos
      @SandysOrganizedChaos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I only use FDA compliant epoxy. Which means after it is mixed and cured properly meets the guidelines for safe, direct contact with food/beverages. Anytime you purchase a tumbler or item made with epoxy with the intent to consume from or off of always verify with the maker that they are using a proper FDA compliant epoxy. I personally use Alumilite’s Amazing Clear Cast line. But there are lots of other properly regulated epoxy’s safe for this type of craft.
