If you do the math(s), the effective hourly rate for many pilots on run-of-the-mill regional routes is not amazing especially when you factor in college loan repayments.
@@offyourself3986 if you don’t know what you want, Math is the LAST thing you want. Math degrees are insanely difficult, and frankly not that important for flying.

My dad was still in the navy when he applied to be an airline pilot. He wad not origally going to make the navy a career.i was 8yrs old in 1962. He was 36. He would have gotten the job except for one requirement. The age requirement. He was 36. 35 was the cutoff age. Could not be over 35. Is the 35 still the age today? Thanks

@@cjgreen4331 pay and benefits simple enough.. I was a 121 Jet Pilot flying 79 seats clearing 30K a year, after paying for benefits and taxes it was no where near that.. Pilots are limited to only work 1000 hours per YEAR and make $300K plus. That means for Uber drivers working a 40 hour week for the same money are working doubly as much. So what do you value? Time or money?

I Really Enjoyed This Video So Short And Helpful

Very true. And to think just a few years ago pilots were making even less at the regional level.
Thank you man really helpful
Enjoyed your video, it is very informative. Does most major airlines require a 4 year degree?
Yeah but In anything, I’d recommend taking math.
@@offyourself3986 if you don’t know what you want, Math is the LAST thing you want. Math degrees are insanely difficult, and frankly not that important for flying.
They’re not necessarily required for mainline, but it does get you a better chance. Regionals, however, don’t require degrees.
Update: as of 2022 No a 4yr degree isn’t required any longer. Pilot shortage has hit them hard.
@@Bunn4Funn it’s going to hit harder and harder as the time goes by so maybe the pay will go up hella too since they really gonna need pilots.
Hi I’ve been trying to contact Nathan for more than 3 weeks and have gotten no response

Have you ever heard of the new laser beam deflector eyeglasses called MetAir? I wonder if they really work and how well they work.
What was the purpose of pointing a Lazer into the cockpit anyways
Pilots aren’t making as much as I thought. This pay was fine 20 years ago.

Hey, what was wrong with your previous career and what are you pursuing now? If you don't mind me asking

Truck drivers earn more in our first year... $78,000 (gross pay) not included over time.
