    Hey Michael, great video! Just wanted to throw out there that the math shown on screen at 3:10 is off. Don’t know if you wanna change that since the video is only a day old.

    I only get $22 as a CFI. Students can be flaky too cancelling appointments and whatnot. It's not a consistent income. Another part time job is required but can't maintain one because I need to keep my schedule open at the school for students sooooo I have no idea. Might have to move in with roommates or parents soon. The struggle to 1500 is real...750 left. That's the only saving grace

    $25 an hour from 2 years ago isn't bad, especially since you are building time for free. However i think freelance CFI is probably the best route, you can really give back to the community and make more at the same time. Also you can do other jobs at the same time, probably could at a school too but freelance is way more freedom. You could even have 2 different flying jobs...

    • @MichaelHsu95
      @MichaelHsu95  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes totally agree but freelance is not always stable, you don’t always have a lot of students and you have to go out and find students in the beginning which can be hard

    Nobody can survive on $1k a month anywhere in this country, especially San Diego no less. This reality is a huge turnoff to aviation and Frye main reason why most ppl aren’t interested in pilot careers, and nobody wants to sell years of their soul to get to an airline that they’ll have to sell out their soul to anyway

    • @gerardoreyes8868

      I'm in a city in NE Mississippi with 37k people. A single CFI I know charges $65 an hour and stays completely booked. If you were a CFI in Florida ( good weather all the time ) on your own charging $55 an hour and worked 8 hours a day you could make around 105k pre tax. My dad's a pilot and I'm getting into aviation. But I'm going to get my CFI rating so that I can stack cash while I wait to get my ATP for the airlines.

Last year he barely broke 18k… His wife just had his second kid… Idk how they expect us to live to see 1500hrs like this

      @@MichaelHsu95I think it's fair to say what the average person makes annually as a CFI (who is given medical insurance). I think we're all here trying to find out if it's a wage that will pay the rent, or do CFI's live in their cars (or the planes). The flight schools are all willing to put people in debt for $80-$100k+, but none talk about the true CFI incomes and whether or not it's adequate enough to live on your own while Instructing for years. Many young people have parents to fall back on. I personally will be in my own... And I don't have lots saved up.

    • @MichaelHsu95
      @MichaelHsu95  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AviatorGM I think that depends on many factors such a where in the country you live, what kind of life style you live. But yes for the most part you can live off the cfi wage

    ? Flight Instructors ONLY teach the pilots how to fly an Aircraft ? Do pilots ONLY learn how to fly and land the plane ?
    I thought/think Flight instructors involved in the whole process of teaching in the Aviation Academy in order to teach pilots or also those engineers as they have to know also about the whole of the Aircraft's components . The body,the engine ,the electrical ,electronic system etc..
    Are those Flight instructors occasional also freelance employees /teacher ? Really ? Especially who those teach those Airline pilots ?
