One of my personal favorite "Brent" shows, and I dont mean by era, but by playing. He is steller from note one to the encore, but that Birdsong and Scarlet>Fire will always give me goosebumps. Thanks for posting this in its entirety!
First concert...cops everywhere until the second set and then they were gone and they opened up main floor... beautiful dancing hippy chicks... new music... watched Bobby do a front kick to his nose during little red rooster... HUT! and just like keef I was completely straight... whew! Been a deadhead ever since!
When Lazy Lightning-Supplication was starting to get rare. Saw it at my first two shows, then never again for the next 119. I guess Weir decided we were liking it too much.
Lotsa comments here...here's one; That's a Tennessee Jed that must've outshone all others this August '82 show!! WhooHoo 🎉! Diggin'the Good Music 🎵🎶💨💨 🧠🤯 here in Northern Alberta Canada 🇨🇦❤️✌️😎!!

I've been listening to a lot of Dead & Co lately and this was a good reminder of why people say D&C plays slow! (Don't get me wrong, I think D&C is fantastic, but more different than I'd realized.)
These years.. 81- 85 were heavy cocaine years.. kind of out of control times.. up’s and downs. The frantic feel of Bertha opening is a good example. The boys sound good, but shaky.. great show none the less.. and to your point is well taken about the differences between then and now.
not the best sound quality, no? but enjoying it nevertheless. always do. no such thing as a real bad show or anything in my mind. they always had something interesting going on. always pretty damn high quality even on what some people might call a bad night.
Over the course of 20+ years of going to shows, I saw a couple of stinkers. I also witnessed pure magic. You can't take the risks that they took, and perform as many shows as they did, without falling flat on your face on occasion. The good shows far outweighed the mediocre or the bad.

Damn, within two years, Jerry went from sweet voiced, youthful Jerry in 1980 to husky voiced, junkie Jerry by 1982.
