There's another install video that recommends that you make sure your oil filter and new oil cooler are topped off with fresh oil to minimize air in the system. I top off my oil filter with every oil change and it works. It minimizes the "valve clatter or tapping" that Evos are notorious for.
Thanks for pointing this out. I will let our video department know. :)
Did anyone count how many times he says "next"?
👌👌👌
The 4 clips above the grill don't need to be removed. They stay on the bumper when removing the bumper.
Might be a dumb question (sorry just getting into vehicles and there systems), but are you required to drain the oil out of the car first? Or does the oil cooler hoses have a close off valve?
Hi Divinum! You just need to let the car cool, no need to drain all the oil, however you will need to remove the oil filter, so have a drain pan near by to catch any oil that drips out. Here's the installation guide for reference: cdn.mishimoto.com/media/productpdf/MMOC-EVO-01_InstallGuide.pdf
Hi I have the same oil cooler installed on my Evo 9, one of the fittings going in to the sandwich plate is leaking I found out today and it’s stressing me out the fact that the oil cooler is fairly new please advice or may be I tighten the bolts properly is there a torque spec for it?
Hey Hali, our team recommends 15-25 ft/lbs for those straight fittings. If you are experiencing any issues, please reach out to our team at Support@Mishimoto.com or call at 302-762-4501 and we'd be happy to help out!
Mitsubishi told me this is a days labour on a Shogun 3.2did 2001
Would this fit on the 02 oz rally?
Theo Garrett Hello! We have not confirmed fitment for that application; a Mishimoto Universal Oil Cooler Kit might work best for you. Please feel free to email us at sales@mishimoto.com and we will help fit the perfect fit. Have a great day!
