It's something she's been meaning to have fixed for a long time AF - we just thought we may as well both be out of action at the same time! 😜 Thanks for coming along! 👍
All the best with your recovery, Christine. I had my Carpel tunnels done in my twenties, the doctor let me watch as he cut me open and explained what he was doing. Back then they did one at a time, due to several weeks in plaster for each. Cheers. 👍
Thanks Ross, I passed your well wishes on 😊 The surgery is less invasive now with keyhole methods so the recovery is much quicker. Christine is doing very well and even back to sewing already - and very pleased with the results 👍
Great video Chris, cannot believe the prices! I thought they were expensive in England 😂 Very interesting, please do some more. Definitely looking into the pewter 👍All the best to Christine, Wishing her well. ✌♥️🇬🇧
Best wishes to Christine for a good recovery 😊 Glad the surgery went well. If you are interested in learning more about clothes etc some of the other reseller YT channels are good. 'Diary of a flipper' is a bloke in the Golden triangle. 'Aussie flipper' is up in Qld. Good researching material!
The “ Big 4” op shops - Salvos, Vinnies, Brotherhood, Red Cross - can get pretty pricey these days, and the prices vary big time from suburb to suburb. Kew would definitely be at the more expensive end! I tend to prefer shopping at little independent op shops, often run by a church etc. Best of luck to Christine for a speedy recovery, will be checking out your channel - love the fabric haul, will be interested to see what it gets made into!
Used to be, the thrift shops sold junk cheap. Now they all check ebay before pricing. Takes a lot of the fun out of resale shopping. You expect to pay more at an antique dealers, because of thier curating expertise. Charity shops are supposed to be for fun.
Yep - and often the people researching ebay don't quite get it right and the prices are even more ridiculous! It's like "That's what the internet says so it must be true!" 😲🙄😒
I enjoyed the video Chris. Kew being a posh suburb, the price didn't surprise me. Pewter that's interesting, I'll have a look around my local op shops for any.
Op shops used to good, seems to be mostly clothes now but I didn't know pewter was worth so much, I might melt down some of the wife's old tennis trophies 🤔🙂
I struggle with the logic of some op-shops' prices. I know their overheads are high these days with CEO salaries etc but they get the stuff for nothing and they get more than they can sell. I believe they are narrowing their market by asking antique shop prices for certain goods. Even some clothing prices are around what you'd pay in a high street shop meaning many items go for rags or in some cases landfill.
I totally agree Dave, it's a bit of a slap in the face of people who donate quality stuff as well! Not to mention the (often) volunteer labour involved.
The colour organisation is very visually appealing and also encourages browsing!
And especially pleases people who collect "beige books" etc! 😜🤣
Poor Christine, having surgery as well !!. That was very interesting and good fun, thanks for taking us along. 👍

You and Christine are both recovering. Take care of each other. Thank you
Thanks Cynthia, we are each other's support crew (including Coco)! 😊😊

Love and prayers for healing Christine . Looks like a good day for you Chris . I hope you are both getting plenty of rest and heal quickly .
Thanks Dee, yep plenty of rest and recovery time for sure. Luckily we don't have stressful jobs! 😊
You two can keep more out of the tip with "one good arm between you" than most people do with two good arms :)
Hahaha, thanks Rick! Our efficiency may be down a little but our passion certainly isn't! 😃🖖
Those poor boxes in the new shed don't stand a chance against the fun of going treasure hunting. Glad you are both feeling better.
Haha, yeah the lure of fresh treasure is strong! But the hunt won't be very often at the moment - I do need to free up some space here!
Great video Chris, cannot believe the prices! I thought they were expensive in England 😂

Thanks Les! Usually any travelling we do involves op shop treasure hunting! There will be more 😃

Thanks Nat. I think I've seen those channels at times. Also the 2Aussiethrifters in Adelaide 👍

Thanks Dianne - yeah definitely the smaller independent shops are the best 👍
Great op shopping adventures. Just subscribed ♻️💚
Thanks for joining in! We hope to do more now that the weather is warming up here 😊
I enjoyed it ;) cheers
That's great mate! Cheers 😃👍
I've often wondered if Pewter was worth keeping. I have 2 mugs in the shed. Will be keeping an eye out for more now. Thanks for the info.
It's certainly worth more than I gave it credit for Troy! I'm looking forward to experimenting with it!

Thanks Longship. Expensive - yes.. but still happy to find something! 😊
I should also mention the reselling Boomer, haha just saw her in your comments!
Op shops used to good, seems to be mostly clothes now but I didn't know pewter was worth so much, I might melt down some of the wife's old tennis trophies 🤔🙂
Many op shops are more expensive than our shop! Crazy! Haha - best when she's not looking I'd suggest! 🤣
The pewter prices surprised me... I might have to look for its uses.
Yes, it surprised me when I first discovered the demand for it! I'm looking forward to some future experimenting 😊👍

Gr8 vid mate, how to tell if it pewter cheers
Pewter is fairly heavy, a dull grey and very soft! It is nearly always marked on the base of items though, so that makes it very easy to identify 👍😊
@@TheUltimateRecycler wot the marking cheers. I saw cup today I though could be pewter, very heavy but Vinnie want $80 lol.
I cone only see the oscilloscope
The one on top is a HF oscillator, but there is an old oscilloscope in that pile! I'll check them all out one day!
