Im 35 and only passed last january. My first year insurance on an 05 1.2 clio was 580. My second year renewel, with LV, was 877. I went in a comparison site, and decided to change my details to include access to another car, and two named drivers. Without them i was getting 635 - 680 kinda quotes, with them, i got it down to 450. Obviously depends on who you add and their driving record, but if you legitimately could have access to another car, put that on there, as well as who drives it and any license holders in their household.
Oh wow! Thats super cheap. I'm 30 with a provisional licence. Just got a corsa 09 1.4L insurance is £1500 monthly starting on 24/06 because earlier dates are way more expensives. Dreading how much it'd be when i pass
I just had some private practice in my own car yesterday, and while I was sceptical at first. Once I started to change gears as I went to the higher speeds, I got the hang of it and it is actually very enjoyable!
@@JoshRamwell I do have problems with controlling the steering wheel while changing gears which mostly happens on higher speeds but that will of course take time to fix.
@@milanpaudel3103 as you say it takes time. Are you finding that you are slightly turning the wheel while changing gear? Advice 1. Before committing to the gear change let go of wheel with left hand for a second or so to keep the wheel straight then change gewr once you are happy rather than rushing to change Gear as fast as possible. 2. Keep hands really lose on the wheel like feathers. At high speed the car only once to go straight ahead anyway. No need for heavy hands, they just make you turn accidently.
@@JoshRamwell Yes I feel that when driving it on higher speeds, the steering turns to the left while changing gear mainly as I wouldn't want it to turn right onto the other side of the carriageway. I also do feel like I grip the steering wheel a bit too aggressively which could also be a reason?
Problem is, I’m an older executive with first time licence in UK. I’m not interested in beater cars. Even simple merc coupes have insurance off 4-5k. It’s a joke.
Prices are very area dependent here in rural Devon some of my learners are getting really low quotes even my instructor insurance is cheap doing 35k a year
I tried separately to get the Lerner insurance to protect my ncb, but my car is currently uninsured and when I tick that it says I need the car insured or get a black box
is there known issues with providers not giving insurance to people who have held a provisinal for over 5 years , all these sites are saying no quotes avadible
You are correct liz it's a total nightmare. If you want to shave some time off get the cancellation app in my link tree. It's in the description below. Good luck🙌

That's brilliant my friend well done. It does take some time at the start especially with faster roads.😁🙌

@@milanpaudel3103 as you say a lot of it is practice. Try those to things and let me know how it goes.

Yes I think it's normally higher in cities depending on crime rate and more people more chance of a crash I guess.🙌
What if you have brought your own car with a provisional to learn in, how would you go about insuring that and learning with a experienced friend
Insurance has doubled this year my wife's zafira was £500 this year's is quoted £850! And ev insurance is like £3600 annually!
Insurance policies tend to confuses me thank you for making it clearer
They confuse everyone Hina, half the time I wonder if that's there aim😁🙌
Hi I just wanted to ask I’m 24 gonna be doing my driving and all and I wanted to get a van and do deliveries do you have any advice thanks
I tried separately to get the Lerner insurance to protect my ncb, but my car is currently uninsured and when I tick that it says I need the car insured or get a black box
Just got a Lerner driver on my policy as a named driver could lose my ncb. what if they pass would that mean they aren't insured anymore right
is there known issues with providers not giving insurance to people who have held a provisinal for over 5 years , all these sites are saying no quotes avadible
Does that mean anyone above 35 yrs of age can’t get a learner driver insurance?? Please advise 🙏
I am 37 , can I get a insurance as a learner driver if I buy a car to learn to drive??
Good advice but with the current waiting list it could take more than a year to pass.
