The _Sabrina the Teenage Witch_ sitcom is still a whole lot better than _Riverdale_ or the upcoming _Sabrina_ reboot.
The reboot hasn't been made yet, so you can't say what's better.
The new Sabrina series is not a reboot. It’s not connected to the original sitcom what’s so ever. It’s based on the recent horror comics called “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”. Now with the new show now out I gotta say the new show is A WHOLE LOT BETTER than the 90’s sitcom version. I grew up with it and I appreciate it for what it was but this new Sabrina.. god damn. It’s so story driven and it genuinely has a few scares.

K' Lapis The sitcom wasn’t the original. There’s the comic book series and this new Sabrina is true to the original source. Sabrina has always been a black Magix witch.. it is satanic and evil and that’s the point of the series. Sabrina the character doesn’t want to go down a dark path but she’s being forced to so she’s dealing with it the best she can and avoiding having to do satanic things.

I totally agree they should have been there but Sabrina did run for 7 years and Jenny was only on the first season, val- only in 2, and Libby I believe 3. though they should have been there, sometimes the actors have prior commitments that don’t enable them to make an appearance. Like I know Jenna Leigh Green who plays Libby does broadway which entails traveling so I think it just depends. They might have been to other comi-cons. But just not this one? 🤷🏼♀️
Well Josh, Morgan and Roxy were are in the same number of seasons as Libby so....

Yeah as much as I enjoyed the characters in the college arc, I would have LOVED to see Jenna Leigh Green (Libby). She just sits next to Melissa acknowledging her with an "ugh" then goes "Spellman."

The show really was magical and a pinnacle staple of the 90s. Seeing most of the main cast here was just surreal, everyone looks great though it's too bad Jenna Leigh (Libby), Lindsay Sloane (Valerie), Michelle Beaudon (Jenny), and the Teachers (Mr. Kraft, Miss Quick, and Mr. Pool) didn't come for the reunion as well though I'm guessing it was a pretty full enough panel already. Still, would've been great to see them here lol
I always make it a point to rewatch the show at least once every few years and it never gets old for me haha The characters were great, the show had great fashion sense, and great music arrangement (before the copyright stuff reared it's ugly head in that ruined the DVD sets). Seasons 1-3 will always be the best in my opinion. :)
I was going to say it's seasons 1-3 for me. They were so good.
I grew up on Sabrina. I never understood why everyone wanted to be in the Harry Potter wizarding world, being a witch like Sabrina is so much cooler.
I can't stand Harry Potter.
My guess is because Harry Potter was open-ended. The world was pretty big and inviting to young minds but I agree, Sabrina was cooler lol

And now I like Sabrina and cosplay Bellatrix.
I don't think it's comparable, to be honest.
Sabrina has the modern vibe, with less murder. It's a comic, a series and it's about typical teenage problems, how to live your life, whether magic or not would fix it, etc.
Harry Potter is more about being abused and neglected by your family, being rescued and flown to a school, learning to write with quills, about stirring a potion óne second too long and turning it into poison.
Or about having to choose between your own life and your friend's life in the seconds before murder.
I think Sabrina has more superficial problems, if you don't mind me saying. It's more lightweight and it cheers you up, whereas Harry takes you for an emotional-rollercoaster-ride, where the only way out is to keep reading untill all is well.
Harry's witnessing people dying or dismembering themselves and overcoming that horror and trauma through hard work, friendship and keeping hope.
Again, it's not comparable. It's like asking someone why they prefer a thick winter's jacket to a pair of darkblue tight jeans.
I also wondered whether steven alvarez read the books or watched the movies.
Seeing Harry mumble; 'This is where they are' and biting his lip when standing next to his parents grave, understandably has a whole different vibe if you compare it to the book.
Something along the lines of; "Harry bit his lip, but the tears still kept coming. The loss he had been ignoring for all these years, was now becoming painfully clear. For a brief moment, Harry secretly wished he slept under the snow, with them. But then an overwhelming sensation of hope came over him and (blahblahblah")

She was awesome, one of the best characters. I didn't like the college room mates much apart from Miles who was also good. Libby and Miles were nice characters.

I'd also have Martin Moll, he was great as Mr Kraft.

I just finished rewatching this series! Made me feel like a kid again. I wonder where exactly my Sabrina magic book is in storage...
Sabrina brings back a lot of bittersweet memories for me. When I was a kid, me and my older sister used to love the show, and it was one of the few things we bonded over. We’d pull all nighters watching entire seasons. We fell out a few years ago and don’t speak anymore, but this show always brings back good memories of laughing with my sister.
Honestly I just clicked this to hear Nick Bakay doing the Salem voice....

She has a life and a career that isn't profiting off of Nostalgia (which is fine good for them they should profit off of their work) she can't drop everything to hang out with whoever when she's doing 8 shows a week on Broadway. That doesn't work.

Sabrina and Hilda in real life I think are the funniest and strongest characters, which reflected in the series. It was great to see most of the cast again, they all look great, not aged a lot, but I think they should have brought Salem the puppet on for some laughs.
Josh is really dull, funny how art reflects life, I think all of them played characters not too dissimilar from their real life personalities.
Brilliant quirky and inventive show, that felt warm and comforting at the same time and a flawless, well casted cast.
Man Dough like Zeldas choice was one of my favourites.
Would have liked to see Mr Kraft and Mrs Quick, and Mr Pool here, her teachers were very funny.
Agreed, I'm so sad that the teachers didn't come for the reunion as well as Jenny, Valerie, & Libby.

this show was so magical, I grew up on this show and love it to this day :) I remember always being upset I wasn't told I was a witch when I was 16 lol I still watch it and get the same happy feeling I did as a kid :) I love seeing all the cast here would of loved to have been at this, so happy to see how well they are all doing and looking forward to reading this creepy comic version :D I do love that idea melissa said about the witch school that her and harvey run, they need to do it, salem could be the headmaster haha!!

Nice way to describe the creepy puppet. As a kid, I loved it, but now, as an adult, that puppet is nightmarish.

Viewers, confession time. I didnt really grew up watching this show during its original run. I was a child at time aka I was only into Power Rangers, Pokemon, anything at aired on Saturday mornings. The only thing related to Sabrina that Id watched was that cartoon verision of it. I had such a huge crush on that Sabrina!

I'm opposite you, I guess. I loved the bits of the show that I caught, but eventually it didn't stand the test of time for me. And MJH's politics, while it postdates the show AFAIK, doesn't sit well with me either.
I don't care what people may say, I think Nate/Harvey still looks pretty cute. So sweet to see he still has that spark.
I'd LOVE a sequel in which Sabrina and Harvey had a family and dealt with all that entails with magic.

Soleil Moon Frye and Elisa Donavan are really the ones who haven’t aged. I think Nate Richert and David Lascher are the ones who’ve really aged.

I really wasn’t a fan of the later cast, high key think they should’ve kept Libby, Valerie, Quizmaster etc as part of the regular cast.

Ironically it was better than Season 5 and season 6 in my opinion! although i missed Hilda and Zelda but Season 5 and 6 were the weakest!

The actress who played Libby was really good actress for being so young. Libby was mean but was not a caricature and you kind of cared for her. When she was changed into Sabrina on the show she really got the details

Sabrina was the best show ever to be on tv. It was magical and full of fun and different scenes like a true tv play. I loved how all the girls on the show that were teens ACTUALLY looked like teens. I hope they make a Broadway musical out of Sabrina the teenage witch one day.
