As an ex-bus driver, I can tell you that running late is never going to land you in any trouble, providing it’s obviously not deliberate. Running early however is a massive problem. You are potentially leaving passengers behind that hadn’t got to the bus stop at the time you left early.

If your due to leave a stop at say 10.00am but leave early passengers could miss the bus.

My old man is a bus driver here in Australia for two and a half years now, been his dream job for decades! seeing you do this is pretty much identical to what he does and I have forward him your channel so he can check out your bus sim vids. He's very impressed with your knowledge! He specially loves the way you continuously check their tickets for fare invaders, fare invaders is the number one annoying thing that gets on his nerves as a driver. He once caught 30 people (mostly teenagers) in one day fare evading and of course they're not happy about that and ends with an assault.
Got some tips for you Jeff since I've also play BS18 for a while now.
First of all: disable the "Too early event" when you start a route, it is just so stupid and with it disabled it just gives you a timer of the time left to the scheduled arrival time.
Second: Set the value of breaks strength higher since they are way too bad in my opinion. Pretty sure this can be done in the game settings.
So here's the thing. You're going to run late sometimes and there's not much you can do about it usually and it's understandable. Often times there's a time cushion at the start/end of parts of your route and you can use that to catch up on time. You cannot, however, be early .That is called running hot and it's very, very bad. Imagine you look at the bus schedule and it says that the bus will be at the airport at 2:20pm but Jeff was in a hurry to be early and blew through there 5 minutes earlier. Someone comes outside and their bus seemingly never comes. What would even be the point of having a schedule at all in that case, right? (source: I drive buses)
And this happened to me. I left home at 5.20 in the morning and bus arrives at a station at 5.25 so plenty of time right? No because bus arrived 4 minutes early and i missed it. I spoke to a friend who was on it and he told me the bus passed 3 stops before mine and that is why it was early.
I don't like these kinds of simulators but you killed it on this one keep it up my good sir you're awesome!?

Played the game a bunch last night and got the hang of it. Haven't tried hard mode yet. But anyway I enjoyed it, it was therapeutic, and will probably do some broadcasting myself.
I like how, if you want to be spontaneous you can exit the bus and run down the street. You can also choose the weather. I'm glad I got this instead of train sim 2.

So Jeff. I'm a bus driver, the reason you can't leave a stop early is due to the reason that you need to stick to the route timetable so that people don't miss a bus even if they reach the stop at the time stated on the board.

An oldie but great game. Hopefully we will get a USA DLC with such buses as the New Flyer XDE40 "Excelsior" series. And several American cities such as Chicago, New York or Philadelphia. Might pick this up in the Steam Summer Sale.
Great video Jeff! Definitely more of this map if you like it. I also want to say I really enjoy the added bus driver commentary, LOL. I really laughed at your comments about the passengers and things going on around you. It's those little things that really add to your videos!
I'm probably not the first to say this as I've not reviewed all the comments.
What you experienced, where you had to tap the accelerator and them put your foot on it a second time, isn't a problem. It actually happens on real vehicles and it is called a "Halt Brake". It is an electronically controlled brake that does the same job as the hand brake, but I personally wouldn't rely on it while stopped and allowing passengers to alight and disembark. Some vehicles apply the Halt brake automatically or there is a switch on the dash to switch it on.
It seems from observing the dash board while watching you play, you have two icons on the instrument cluster, which are illuminated while you're stopped. You have the Red Circle with "P" and then to the very left of that, you have the red circle with "H".
The "P" comes on and off with use of your Park Brake and the "H" illuminates when you open the doors and then is extinguished when you pull away after releasing your Park Brake. :-P

This game has good sound effects on it. Better than American and Euro 2 truck simulator. When you splash in a puddle or something, it makes noise.

Oh btw I usually am able to open the ramp with doors open (unless there is an option that prevents you from doing so that I am missing) and leaving too early is a thing you can set up just before you start the route in the options list that gets displayed.

As a challenge you should make a route that connects all the stops (the double stops like Cathedral in the old town should all be connected (so say 2 Cathedral stops, etc, a.k.a. all the dots indicating stops connected)) ride the route in round trip mode (not loop/circle mode) and start and end the route in the garage :P
Do you use a vr, or how do you get the camera to turn as you don’t move your hands
He is probably using something called a track IR. Track IR is where you but a sensor on top on you monitor and some reflectors on your head. Then if he turns his head a bit in real life his head in the game will turn.
Honestly i would love a bus driving game on xbox but it would be awesome to have all of that stuff. I love roleplaying games like this

some buses in Australia when the door is open it locks the pedals, wont work till the door/s are fully closed - Is that what you mean ?
The too early message came up because in the trip settings, you enabled 'too early mode' or something like that at the bottom of the settings
The color of most EU road signs has practically nothing to do with what their function is, a yield sign is a yield sign no matter what
Also, you only have to stop at a yield sign if theres other people with right of way, because otherwise it would just be a stop sign
so yellow and red yield sign same thing, got it
@@jfavignano no, the red upside down triangle is a give way sign, the yellow turned square gives you the right of way. You were right in the video.
The reason for the before time aspect, is because every stop in most of Europe have a designated time for each bus to be at the stops. So when a Bus leave to early, the chances are you wont get the Passengers that ment to go with that particular bus route, and that itself is just as bad for the Bus driver as if they are late. I have alot of Bus drivers in my family, and being on time seems to be the nr 1 thing to do in that business. So in short, to early the people that ment to Drive with your route will be late. :)

Funny how you fail to indicate twice at the roundabout yet indicated to change lanes which doesn't even count towards score. 🤔

Hell yah they added more to the map! I just got this game a month ago because I watched you play it in June of last year. The problem was I didn’t have a steering wheel. I now have a steering wheel!!
CNG buses are really sluggish up hills thats a real life thing haha. Mostly due to tune.
Revenue Agency would be like the IRS (Internal Revenue Service), CRA (Canada Revenue Agency), or HMRC (Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs) depending on where you live. IE, a tax office.
So I am a bus operator in my state all times are set to when you are supposed to leave the bus stop which you probably can understand that leaving too soon you might miss a customer. Now the too late thing not sure why that is a thing in my company as long as it isn't my error why I am late I won't get in any trouble they should remove that

Hey, I was just wondering how I can get the rest of the map. I am playing on PS4
AirTube _YT you need to unlock it by completing objectives
Use L3 to see the mission objectives you have to do. Complete those and the rest of the map will start to open up
Also you can use sandbox mode on a new company to use the rest of the map and buy buses for free
