Been Muslim for 2 weeks now. Although it is overwhelming with learning a new language and just today after Jummah had my first experience of racism in the masjid 😂😅 I would like to say I believe I still made the right choice to follow only one god! I lost my girlfriend because they don’t support my decision to follow this beautiful religion many hardships have taken place after I’ve asked allah to do a whole 360 on my life. I just really think it’s crazy that your life can honestly change just from asking for help from the creator 😅

Yasmin Mogahed wrote a piece about dealing with hardships, it’s really beautiful:
Without the existence of deprivation and loss, we couldn’t grasp the need for gratitude or the virtue of patience. And without separation, we wouldn’t taste the sweetness of reunion. Glory be to the one who gives-even when He takes
I still remember the desperation. In the deep disappointment which often follows self-reflection, I turned to my Creator to plead. I turned to plead - but not for what can be measured, bought, sold, or traded. It was desperation for a truer currency. With my flaws suddenly made open to me, I became desperate to be liberated from the tyranny of my own nafs (lower desires). I became desperate to be a better person.
And so, handing my heart to Allah (swt), I prayed that I might be purified. And while I had always held to firm faith that God is the Hearer of prayers, I never imagined when - or how - that prayer would be answered.
Soon after that prayer, I experienced one of the most difficult periods of my life. During the experience, I braced myself, and prayed for guidance and strength. But never did I see any connection to my previous prayer. It was not until that time had passed, and reflecting on it, I realized how I had grown. Suddenly I remembered my prayer. Suddenly I felt that the difficulty was itself the answer to the prayer I had made so desperately.
The words of Rumi explain beautifully: “When someone beats a rug with a stick, he is not beating the rug - his aim is to get rid of the dust. Your inward is full of dust from the veil of ‘I’-ness, and that dust will not leave all at once. With every cruelty and every blow, it departs little by little from the heart’s face, sometimes in sleep and sometimes in wakefulness.”

subhanAllah, I was just talking to my friend and mom about how I've seen non muslims make dua over their hair to grow
(as we were talking about the thinning of our hair of course) and how as muslims we get this shyness or embarrassment to ask Allah for even the simplest things. I was mentioning about not being embarrassed because, I've been ill since I was 15 (now 26) and I've lost tremendous amount of weight by almost dying a couple of times, and I specifically remember asking Allah please allow me to gain healthy weight and let me go back to my normal weight of 95 or the most 105. Right now I have gained my weight back alhamduliah, and I've been stuck at 105 and I'm sitting here thinking ya Allah I was so stingy in my dua, and I'll never do it again.
I am currently living out most of my duas and I wish people understood how lovely making dua is. Ive made dua to learn how to read arabic and I did but I struggled a bit, and Allah allowed me to learn by teaching kids at the masjid, I've been engaged before and I prayed istikhara, (which is such an important prayer and dua) and Allah has prevented from marrying someone I had such a hard time having a soft heart towards. Allah has protected me from harmful people when I asked him to. I asked Allah to allow me to learn tajweed and to travel for my knowledge of this deen and I'm currently learning tajweed and drive at least 30 mins away. When I say believe in your heart and be as specific as you can , I cannot emphasize it enough. I also have some tips for anyone because I always say Allah is my best friend truly after building such a close relationship with him.
    1. for using the names of Allah I recommend Reflecting on the names of Allah by Jinan Yousef. I promise you it's life changing
    2. Read your morning and evening athkar, and truly understand what you're saying. Barakah will come into your life in ways you never thought of, I recommend the fortress of a muslim on amazon.
    3. Always make istighfar more than 100 times a day.
    4. start off your duas with Allahs name, prayer on the prophet, and istighfar and then begin your dua. Always have conviction that Allah will answer or give you even better than what you asked for.
5.Make istikhara prayer and dua for all major/ minor things in your life, and understand that you are truly asking Allah to pick what is best for you in this dunya and akhira and for your deen. I promise you it has saved me multiple times. And please listen to how you feel about the situation, if you feel like it's pulling you away from Allah or you feel anxious or depressed, that is Allah showing you this is not for you. AND do not just pray it for a week and then think you got your answer pray it at least 3 times a day until you sign any papers, whether for marriage, buying a car, house, selecting a school. whatever the case may be do not stop praying it.
    6. lastly, always be appreciative of everything Allah gave you. Allah says if you are grateful to him he will always increase you.
I hope this comment benefits someone ya rab

      Salam aleyki !
The prayer of consultation (istikhara) is a Sunnah and the invocation during this prayer is made after the final salutation, in accordance with what is reported in a noble prophetic hadith.
The way to do it is as follows :
      - Pray two Rak'as (units of prayer) as in any other supererogatory prayer, read in each Rak'a the Fâtiha and a few verses from the Qur'an
      - Then raise your hands after the final salutation and recite the following invocation which is transmitted in this regard:
Phonetic version : Allâhumma innî astakhîruka bi-cilmika wa astaqdiruka bi-qudratika, wa as-aluka min fadlika-l-cazîmi
Fa-innaka taqdiru wa lâ aqdiru, wa taclamu wa lâ aclamu, wa anta callâmu-l-ghuyûbi
Allâhumma in kunta taclamu anna hâdhâ-l-amra (that you explain it precisely) khayrun lî fî dînî wa macâshî, wa câqibati amrî fa-qdurhu lî, wa yassirhu lî, thumma bârik lî fîhi.
Wa in kunta taclamu anna hâdhâ-l-amra sharrun lî fî dînî wa macâshî, wa câqibati amrî fa-srifhu cannî, wa srifnî canhu
Wa qdur lî-l-khayra haythu kâna thumma arddinî bihi
English translation : "Lord, I come to take advice from Your knowledge and take strength in Your strength. I come to ask You for Your infinite generosity. For You are capable and I am incapable, You know and I do not know and you are the Great Knower of the unknown worlds. Lord Allah, if You know that this affair (and he names it precisely whether it is a marriage or a trip or something else) is for me a source of good for my religion, for my life here below and for my future destiny, destin it for me, facilitate its realization for me and bless it for me. And if you know that this affair is for me a source of evil for my religion, for my life here below and for my future destiny turn it away from me and turn me away from it. And predestine to me the good where it is found and inspire me with satisfaction."
[Cheikh 'Abdel-'Azîz Ibn 'Abdi-llâh Ibn Bâz]
So In summary you just pray 2 rakaa (the same as fadjr for example), than at the end to the the taslim (salam aleykum wa rahmatullahi), then pronounce the duaa written.
You can this prayer anytime except at times of the day when it is hateful to pray. And the best time to pray it, is in the last third of the night because ﷲ grant our duaa at that moment. If you don't speak Arabic you can search for a video on TH-cam to help your pronunciation. (be careful that this is not a video in which the duaa is recited with a singing voice and embellished because embellishing your voice when making duaa is a bida3a)
I hope this was useful! Don't hesitate if you have any question!

The thing about adhd connected with mental health, when it comes to the spiritual journey as muslims. It is such a underrated topicc in the muslim community. Espeshally if you are underdiagnosed, nurotipical muslims dont even knoww wallahi! If you watch a video about dr Russel Barkley for example he talks about how the adhd brain grows slower in different parts of the brain in a lifetime, how we connect with Alla swa is soo different from other people, it cant be working on arabic one hour each day, but we have to make it exciting for people. Thats difficult when thinking that most of us from immigrant families are expected to watch over our own spirituslity, I realized that if we properly polish the adhd muslim we can make muslims that are the epitome of society and amazing slaves of Allah swa.

I wish all my brothers and sisters the best and remember to keep making dua and build a relationship with Allah.

I don't know what to do anymore. I've been depressed for years now, i've had a sin that i've always wanted to recover from but i always come back to it. I'm muslim and i wear hijab and pray, but everything seems so empty lately and i feel like i cannot even connect with myself nor anything atp. I used to pray to allah to fix me and help me, i used to pray to be happy but i never got any of these. I'm starting to drift away and recently i've been having suicidal thoughts. I gave up on praying or asking for anything i just thank allah for what i have and go on with my day and it feels like i'm slowly turning into a lifeless human who's just breathing .

    • @linaksr433
      @linaksr433 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

Everything that you're experiencing takes away your sins, there are some people who will suffer so much on this earth, with an awful life, that they won't get any punishment in the afterlife because they got all their punishment on earth.
WAllah, you should beg for being punished in this life rather than in hell.
Hold on there, oukthy, hold on to your prayers, to your hidjab, to your connection with ﷲ because what you're living right now is a sign of love. ﷲ tests who He loves.
The more tests you have, the more love it is.
With every hardship comes ease. Whether you lose sins, whether it keeps you from having a worse future, or by these tests, you're elevated in degrees or tested in your faith. WAllah it's better to suffer and to be tested than to have an easy life. Because that's the proof ﷲ loves you so much. Do not despair of Allah, even if you don't feel Him He's there with you, with us, He's the one Who's been pumping your blood, who's been keeping you warm, who's been giving you rest, He's the one that made your mom smile at you, even if you don't feel Him He's there, listening, watching, taking care of you. ﷲ loves us more than our own mother. He loves us more than everything and everyone.
Our Lord is certainly shy (in the way that suits Him) to make our hands empty when we raise them to ask Him for something.
Don't despair ﷲ. There are 3 types of invocations :
      - the ones that will be granted
The ones that will serve you directly in the afterlife
The ones that weren't granted because granting them would add a calamity on your life.
Remember that we don't know anything. We only have our human point of view, and our very little selves don't know anything about the wisdoms of ﷲ.
Keep yourself strong it's worth it, the worst pain you could feel on earth is nothing compared to what the people in hell will feel, the worst life, the worst of worst, is nothing compared to the day of judgment if we're not among the people of paradise. Ya ﷲ grant us paradise and protect us from the punishment of the grave and the fire of hell (say Amin sincerely because it means "Ya ﷲ grant!")
The futur is always brighter than the past, Allah watches over you, whether you feel it or not.
Lastely oukthy remember ﷲ controls everything, there is no such thing as chance, everything happens for a reason, if I saw your message at this time, there is a reason I saw your message and decided to answer. There's a reason you decided to write it here, it was all written 500 000 years before the creation of the heavens and the earth, and this is all a part of ﷲ s beautiful plans.
If I was inspired to write these words, it's all by ﷲ, so take my words as they come because this interaction is happening for a reason, and it's coming directly from ﷲ
Oukthy, i truly love you in the sake of ﷲ, please hold on there, ask for ﷲ s help because He answers every dua, in a way or another.
Ask help to your loved ones, do the causes to get better, read the Qur'an because it is certainly a cure for all ills.
Sincerely and dearly, your sister filLah

I'm gonna tell u how i deal when i'm in that same situation ; so basically u're at a point where life sucks right , u said u have suciadal thoughts so if u can't live for ur life then live for ur death and ask urself if die the next minute am i ready for the akhirah (in my case no) so i'll just make it my goal to better my next life , like do a lot of istighfar every breath u take make intention that it's for the sake of Allah , start going back on track slowly because right now u're fine with the idea of death . I hope what i said is clear

I've been having a really tough time the past few years as well, and I also don't know what to do. I will make dua for you and ask Allah to help you correct all your affairs. May Allah shower you with mercy and bestow his blessings upon you. May he grant you ease from any suffering and provide a way out from any hardship that you are going through. Ameen ❤
      حَسْبُنَا اللهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ.
Allah is sufficient for us, and he is the best disposer of affairs.
      [Al-Baqarah 2:214]
      مَتَى نَصْرُ اللهِ، أَلَا إِنَّ نَصْرَ اللهِ قَرِيبٌ.
When is the help of Allah, Unquestionably, the help of Allah is near.
      [Al-Imran 3:173]
Even the Prophet (SAW) and those who believed with him were so violently shaken that they exclaimed "When is the help of Allah?". Don't think that Allah has forgotten you, he will never turn his back on you and he loves you a lot. Every second of patience that you bare and any hardship that you go through will be rewarded. Allah knows what you are going through and he wishes the best for you. Stay strong and don't lose hope ❤.
