I assume you're talking about the "send a WAR in to fight her ghost while everyone else waits outside" thing. It's a big gamble, since you wipe if the WAR doesn't return before the ghosts have crossed the platform, but those few additional seconds of DPS on the boss can make a difference for a borderline party. It's still not clear to me whether this is a bug or an intended mechanic though.
surely it isn't an intended mechanic because there are 8 ghosts instead of only one. and each ghost is tailored for a specific role. Also i was primarily thinking of the mechanic where a tank drops the prey at the front of the train instead of the back and they do fancy tank-swap + CDs to try and survive it all. I'm sure that's doable when you have a static, but people trying to do it in PUGs is a nightmare. If the tank doesn't die, the healer does, if the healer doesn't die, all the dps do. Its unnecessary. Be a good tank and drop your prey at the back XD
Yeah people seem to waste CDs on the chimney and fighting their ghost. At least with DRG I’ve found that I can get through the ghost in one rotation, only using the two jump attacks to build towards an eye, and be back before the train arrives, with Blood at full. If I burned any CDs I’d kill it too fast and Blood would drop before the train showed up. So going in to fight the ghost potentially gives me a bit of a boost for the boss instead of vice-versa, but it could easily go the other way for someone newer to the fight.
Fun fact, if the boss enrages and you're still in a passenger car, the ghosts will also use an enrage ability and become invulnerable. This continues until everyone in the raid is KO'd.
if you got a paladin as OT then the PLD can actually negate all of the DoT damage from going too far away by using cover on the MT. if you time it right (right as head on starts) you can run all the way back with the MT under the effect of cover, take the head on damage instead of the MT make the MT rush back to melee range to get rid of the DoT effect and at around the same time cover wil end (even the PLD casting cover doesn't receive the DoT damage)
I also seen a tank stay in the front corner with headlamp and only healer move to the back while everyone else stacks in the opposite corner of the affected tank
Can you please insert some kind of separation or at the very least a small pause between mechanics? even if you insert text at the start of each mechanic, talking nonstop makes it hard for me to keep track of the start and end of each mechanic and most of the time I have to repeat that part of the video. I know its not a problem for most, but i would appreciate if you can do something about that.
ERROR ERROR no you cant do more damage if you're in the train car for enrage, once the boss enrages the ghosts become invincible and enrage themselves. also, shame on you MTQ, i watch your videos for puns and that train of thought seemed to have been derailed
I may be wrong... but if you have the ghost dead and someone says "Enrage is coming" and you dont travel back to the main fight, it may still be possible...
Pretty sure you are screwed by the enrage even if youre in a passenger car. Depending on whether or not your add is still alive. If it is, it will cast Flames of hate immediatly after the boss casted his enrage, which will kill you in there too.
Where do the tanks stand for Head-on? Standing at the front unloads the full head-on damage into the tank and standing at the back murders you with the main target DoT.
I'll get about halfway back the platform and hit a defensive CD like Rampart and that usually does it. Any further back and the dmg debuff from connectivity plus the Head-on damage hurts too much, but halfway seems to be a sweet spot for a tank with a defensive CD active.
Garrett Widner yes but it is a gamble. Likely will be patched out as it breaks a big part of the raid and basically makes PFs more exclusionary for WAR only
So what about when you do everything perfectly and bring solid DPS but still can't clear a week later because PF quality only gets worse and your DPS are doing 3.2k?
Make a PF which looks like a loot party on reset day if you know the fight 100%. Did this yesterday and after 50 tries with 'clear partys' I cleared it in one go
for those who are new to playing this raid be sure to avoid Sierra Star at all cost. because he's racist against dps that makes slight mistakes in mechs. pfff... *snorts* LMAO

so basically leave atleast one ghost box up at all times. dodge a bunch of stuff and watch out for the knockbacks
