Mr Tyler you sir deserve a huge amount of respect from all of us cattle farmers you raise your cattle with so much love an care the way it should be I tell people all the time if asked about getting into the cattle business I always tell them don't get into it for money get into it because you love an want to raise cattle
BoyHowdy! Sure takes me back to my youth on a small Ohio farm. I'm 69 today; I left the farm at 19 (entered mil service for 27 yrs and 17 yrs further gov't service), but I still fondly remember bottle feeding those calves. You do a fantastic job, my friend. Lovely family, too! I really look forward to your vids coming out. Thanks.
I would recommend the nipple buckets. Calves are usually really easy to train on them and once they know what's going on they take care of themselves. Huge time saver.
We had a freemartin calf rejected by the cow, she was a twin. We bottle fed her, she had the same issues as this little guy. She went out with our little herd and did great. She even had 2 calves of her own!
FT, you are one busy farmer, two bottle calves and new ones popping out besides! I just have to say you’re the best man for the job, love watching all you do and your beautiful family! God’s blessings!!!❤❤❤❤
Your calves are beautiful! When I was 13, we had 3 bottle calves and it was my job to feed them. Brings back fond memories. I’m 55 now and still living on the same farm today.
"Better to be sure than sorry" was a fave saying of mother's . Bode well for the heifer you fetched up to the shute to verify her heifer calf was feeding. Well done. My dad was the best dairy farmer I know in my 70 yrs and you Sir are following closely in his footsteps in all areas of farming . You're such a pleasure to follow Farmer Tyler.
I love that that bottle calves have each other’s companionship, even though it’s a lot of work for you and your lovely wife. Thanks for another great video!
Watching your cows have calves reminds me of the time when we had 400 head of cattle. 15 bulls only one was Brahma. He was never with the cows usually 1/2 mile away but when calves came 1/2 of them were his. Love the white calves
I think your Grandpa was a wonderful role model for you....the love and compassion for each and every animal on your ranch. Obviously we know the circle of life but these animals had the best while under your care. Your beautiful kids are learning this from you.
The bottle calves are so happy to have a friend. The two playing with each other was adorable. I love your wife’s idea of bringing them inside. That is something I would totally do as well.
Well, I have to say that this is now my absolute favorite video that you’ve put out so far. I enjoyed everything. I’m so glad the first calf is now not alone. I believe this will improve both of their chances and their health. I am looking forward to seeing more about these calfs. I guess cows having twins isn’t so rare as one might of thought. Actually I was surprised when you said that it’s rare because every year your cows have at least one set of twins if not more. I’m very happy to see this one improve so much, that made me happy. Great that the whole family is helping out. Gotta love it ❤️😃
Very sweet to see the calves, brought me back to my time on our farm, we purchased 3 day old Holstein bulls but never bottle fed..was shown how to pail feed them from the dairy farmer...in this way we could feed all of them with out bottles...we would stand over them facing thier heads then insert our fingers into thier mouth got the sucking going, then gently shoved thier mouth down into the pail with the warm milk replacer..done this for a few feedings they caught on very quick...they would put thier heads into the pail, and immediately start to suck up the milk, eventually they drank thier water the same way...so they had two pails in thier own little stalls...when they finished the milk the pails where pulled and washed ready for the next feeding...but they always had thier water pail...but thank for the video, great to see spring calves once again...we done this back in the 70's and 80's then after that we sold our farm...I am 74 now but still not out of the livestock I own a 16 yr old though bred/ quarter horse gelding , had him since he was a yearling ...so I still buy hay, straw, grain...and clean out his stall and clean him...hope you and your family have a great Easter...
This is my 2nd time watching!!! I love seeing all the baby calves!! And how adorable are the two bottle calves now! They will grow up to be big buddies❤ One thing for sure, Rivet definitely knew what his job was when you put him with the ladies!!!😘 It's always good getting to see Mrs. FTR and your babies!!!
This absolute favorite video, so glad the first calf is now not alone and has a buddy to play with and both will get some exercise to get stronger. You do a great job with these problems that arise with animals and equipment problems. Have a great day enjoy the sun. More weather coming tomorrow.
I can’t say it enough what a wonderful farmer you are those cows are all taken care of so very well I’m sure they never want to leave it was wonderful to see your kids and your lovely wife taking care of the cows as well thank you for a great lesson in farming can’t get enough!
That is one of my favorite videos! Lots of things happening, and fun to see all the new calves. The final scene was certainly proof (as if we needed it!) that cows are social animals. That was heartening and endearing to see.
I raised lots of bottle calves, pretty soon they were switched to a nipple bucket. I put big dog collars on them and would tie them to the fence for 10 minutes or so. This kept them from suckling on each other and as soon as they started nibbling on hay I started giving them small amounts of calf starter while still tied. They learned to lead quickly, a good skill to have. Thanks for your great videos, l've been a fan since the beginning!
The black twin looks like he has short ligaments & tendons from knee to fetlock joints to hoof. It will take him a few days to stretch out & walk on his hooves instead of knuckled over & on his fetlock joints. Sometimes they need to be splinted but most stretch out on their own after 2 to 5 days. Glad the calves have a buddy, the white calf perked up & looked happy to have company. I use to put a bottle between my knees & hold 1 in each hand braced against my thighs & my back & butt planted firmly against the stall wall so I could feed 3 calves at a time. I had them bucket trained at about 3 weeks old.
Just started watching your videos, this one and the one before really calming. Something about this video watching the calf take the bottle with selenium salt was magical. Thank you and your family and god bless you. needless to say, I've subscribed.
Those two bottle babies are adorable. I was in tears watching them playing and knowing they had been lonely. People don't realize how much cattle need companionship, from babies on up.
It's so apparent that you (& your family!) love and care for your animals... especially for those calves where you'll go to any length to ensure they thrive. Knowing & appreciating your long days of hard work, the fact that you're willing to add videoing what you do to the workload and share it with the world is beyond tenacity & fortitude! ❤You must love what you're doing!❤
Tyler, there's camp chords that you could watch outside from your house you can watch it in the inside of your barn. Mother with calf if nurse or not😮 They're not expensive 🤔 anymore $30 dollars. We enjoy watching your videos ❤
OMGoodness, life on the ranch can be challenging. Two sweet little calves bottle fed it's good to see the black one begin to thrive. I'm assuming his front legs will be straight soon? I laughed at the white one running around in the pen! Babies are so cute.
When all the cows realize theirs a foster parent on the farm then that's when you'll be in trouble. 🤣🤣🤣 Enjoy the ride never a dull day on a farm always a new surprise waiting for you when you wake up, it keeps you busy, blessed and thankful everyday.❤
I am sorry you had to have a second bottle calf but really it ended up being a blessing. Brie, I love the name Smokey and I agree with one of the other viewers that the black one should be named Bandit! If their bulls maybe you could hand raise them to be sold as very gentle bulls to another farmer who wants one. Great video. We all love seeing Brie and the kids.
That was a great video! 👍👍 great job to you and the family on stepping in there for them bottle calves! Looking like a regular lil nursery. You started out 1 down now your up one! Right on! God Bless Bull Lucero USMC
You can clearly see how much you care about your animals. The whole family participates in this. What is so nice to see is that as much as possible happens naturally. Quite a difference from dairy cows. I don't eat meat myself, but this is nice to look at. ❤
Definitely my favorite video that you've ever posted. Very awesome. The calves together was an instant game changer for both of them. Very very cool. 💯❤️
Maybe you should get a few trail cameras to help view these wonderful animals. So nice to see the calves try to play. Having a buddy will help them immensely. Thank you..
The little white calf looked so happy to just have a friend!

Animal husbandry at its finest. It’s great to see healthy calves.
The two bottle calves together just made my day. Thank you for sharing Tyler.
Riveters babies are bad ass

I just love the golden calves!
This may be the best video you've done.
You are a Good Herdsman. Alway play on the side of caution for the success of the herd.
Two sets of twins in a season is nuts!
Rivet sure seems like your highest producer in stud services lol. He has many babies. Go Rivet!!!
Those 2 bottle babies together are so 🥰 cute!
I love that that bottle calves have each other’s companionship, even though it’s a lot of work for you and your lovely wife. Thanks for another great video!

Love the two calves together! Good for them both! GREAT job, FTR and family!
Watching your cows have calves reminds me of the time when we had 400 head of cattle. 15 bulls only one was Brahma. He was never with the cows usually 1/2 mile away but when calves came 1/2 of them were his. Love the white calves
He must of been working night shift 😂
Glad bottle baby doing good. Rivet was busy...love the colors. Little Bull was doing his job too.
💖💖💖💖💖💖 Those 2 calves, together, were absolutely darling. Makes my heart smile.
Your a great farmer so caring and loving
I think your Grandpa was a wonderful role model for you....the love and compassion for each and every animal on your ranch. Obviously we know the circle of life but these animals had the best while under your care. Your beautiful kids are learning this from you.

Mrs FTR is funny wanting to bring them in the house. HAHA The boys look happy together. Great job!
