He was poor and was sacrificed to rectify the manager's error of putting a midfield out with no legs. I do agree that we can't blame any single player when the whole team is shambles. What a mess.

he loses the ball too fkin often. either holds for too long and then loses it to the defender, or misplaced the pass and gets counter attacked. zirkzee just needs to do simple basic stuff. receive and pass back, preserve the ball possession. or bait a foul like harry kane likes to do. this isnt serie a where you get time and space, epl defenders will hound you like a mad dog. still have faith in zirkzee, this is a steep learning curve for him
I really like Zirkzee, effort and attitude mean a great deal to me. This treatment is appalling and could have a serious impact on him as a player and personally. The press pick up on that & further stoke the flames.. & I think that transfers to the players. I feel like we’re destroying their morale. The Theatre of Dreams has become The Cauldron of Nightmares. The players need us now more than ever
Since scott tominay, Agron wan, sofyan left seems like team has ever drop worse in performance, these performance seemed have decent static per game, so seemed abit weird off loading them and not keeping sofyan on permanent deal as well would been decent deal both partys. Head scratcher

I think in the cold light of day most reasonable people would agree with you Jay. But in the heat of the moment, frustration can get the better of you. I felt for Zirkzee last night, it’s shameful what happened to him. He might not recover from it to be honest.
Absolute myth that OT has never booed or given grief to the team/players. How far back do you want to go? George Graham, Alan Brazil getting spit at, Leighton, both Gibsons, Davenport, loads got it in the late 80s it was toxic at times and included Ferguson getting it. When you have 20yrs of success, it's easy to pretend youre 'different'. We're not. Now a generation for who the well of looking like a spoilt slapped arse has run dry. Throw in what United has becom on social media now permeating Old Trafford. On one level it feels very late 80s in more way than one, on another the treatment of Zirkzee was pathetic, but it felt like he was the collateral damage taken for the whole team.
The team need support now more than ever. I feel like the fan expectations are not aligned with were the club is. The whole club is in a rebuild that has been needed since Fergie left. Every time we have gotten close, a short term decision ruined the progress. The team could be set up to not concede and play on the counter attack but we will just end up back where we were under Ole. Then, we looked decent against teams that played but could break down relegation sides. Ten Hag did that as well. He ground out two trophies but the team still needed rebuilt. There is an expectation that United play attacking football. To get to that place, a lot of pain must happen. A lot of pain that the club have been avoiding for over 10 years now. This is when the fans are needed. The team need a lift. I feel embarrassed that so often, the away fans are louder at Old Trafford.
At this moment, anyone who denies that bare racism exists in fan culture is simply trying their hardest to avoid acknowledging the issue. Pogba, Martial, Rashford, Lingard, and now Zirkzee-most of the time, skin color makes players scapegoats instead of their on-field performance. When everybody is playing poorly, it’s wrong to put the blame on just one person. But here we are.
It was sad seeing the crowd booing and jeering Zirkzee, yes he has not played well, constructive criticism is warranted but to do that was woeful. People forget, new country, new team, three different coaches in the span of 4 months? New system and playing with a bunch of players that are either not good enough or can’t be asked to show up? Which is wild because we know they can be better. There’s no leadership on and off the field, you can’t foster positivity and confidence when literally the whole organization is rotten to the core. Mentality and confidence go hand in hand and right now we have neither despite having players that have actually won things. We have people that have worked at Man Utd for decades being fired. Charity funding being slashed, Christmas parties and bonuses being cut. That rot has literally poisoned every crevice of our beloved team. You have an ownership that does not have a winning a mentality look at their nfl team and their overall record to know they see Man Utd as a cash cow and nothing else. We need a hard reset but I’m not sure if INEOS is the answer as we needed the debt to be clear as we are in worse shape than before. These players are terrified to play you can see that they are which is leading to the mistakes we are seeing day in and day out. Athletes excel through confidence if they don’t have it, performance decreases significantly a simple pass leads to a displaced pass and evidently discontent. We are in a terrible toxic cycle.
I always wonder how these people support their family and friends. Surely it makes sense for all of us to do what we can to allow these players to play without fear? Its why the Maguire pile on annoyed me, just dumb...
So, here's a question for all of you defending Amorim: if You're all so sure these players are crap and will be all replaced over time what need is there for them to learn Amorim's system? Surely for the time being he can do whatever it takes to get points on the board? When Arteta first joined we played 5 at the back because he knew we weren't good enough to go 433 - didn't make us any less capable of doing so later though...
Thank you for bringing this to attention. It's really nasty and I honestly feel ashamed. Zirkzee is a wonderful player who has proven himself, won prizes in Italy. He was brought in for his capacity to bring others into the game, which he does well. Probably with the tactic that if Garna and Rash don't provide for the striker, maybe get a stiker to provide for them. If Zirkzee leaves to another club, he will shine and excell, just like pretty much all our ex-players (sancho, mctommy, greenwood, AwB,Alvaro, etc etc), MUFC is just a meat grinder for talent.
Real Madrid fans didn’t always appreciate Modrić, but today, he stands as a true club legend. I’m rooting for Zirkzee to turn things around because I believe in his ability to do so. Setbacks are inevitable, but they don’t define a hero-they fuel his journey. He’s a hero waiting to be unleashed, and I have no doubt he will fulfill his mission
Amorim and the Man utd fans need to make the players feel more pressure. There’s no pressure to play well because they’re on such high wages. If I were the fans and Amorim during that Newcastle game, I’m cursing at the players and booing them until they play well. Sometimes you gotta get your feelings hurt for the message to go through.
Fully agree that it was wrong to boo him off, been watching United for almost 40 years and don't recall seeing/hearing another player treated like that by "fans". We should be better than that - for example, I've never rated Antony, I don't think he's good enough for the EPL nevermind United but i've clapped him on and off the pitch cos regardless of how I think about him, he's a United player and us supporters are supposed to...y'know....support. Esp in the bad periods.
I'm no United fan but this shows how society and the make-up of matchday crowds has changed profoundly in recent times. Proper Man Utd fans - and by that I mean their traditional fanbase - would never do this. What they might say in the pub with their mates would be another thing but inside the stadium on matchday they got behind their team no matter what. The shower that were doing that the other day - the "I pay my money I've got the right blah blah" are a different breed of football fan (and most of them probably not even Mancs)....
I'm not a United fan, but I was watching the game at my cousin's flat (he is a United fan, he goes to Old Trafford about 6/7 times a season, he was at the Bournemouth game) I said when they were jeering Zirkzee "that's not right" my cousin said that apart from a few players anyone who got hauled off would've probably had that, it was really aimed at ownership, Zirkzee just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, I think Liverpool will batter you, the Arsenal game is a cup game so is neither here nor there, but the Southampton game if you don't win that, you're really in a relegation fight
How did Amorim think that Casimero and Eriksen would be able to cope with Newcastles midfield? Thats was a poor decision and nothing to do with adapting to a new system. Zirkzee was poor in the game, as were they all, but I feel he paid the price being subbed by the manager trying to shore up his mistake.
Wel give man united manager . And footballers of man united football team a chance. With the help of the good lord they be successfully in 2025. ❤ God bless man united.
It’s bang out of order. I don’t think Zirkzee is good enough, I didn’t get the signing, I’d love him to prove me wrong but we’ll see. However, it was an utter embarrassment what happened last night to him. There are numerous players that aren’t good enough, in fact it might be easier to name the ones who I think should stay, but voice our frustrations at the team/squad and the ownership. Singling out an individual who’s never given us a reason to dislike him is a disgrace. I am so disillusioned with 85% of the fan base , it’s heartbreaking unfortunately
I would never boo a United player unless it was something heinous but I can see why people would reach breaking point with a guy who currently has a 50% pass control accuracy... Every 2nd touch Zirkzee takes of the ball, he loses it! DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW FUCKING INSANE THAT IS? People aren't blind to how shocking he's actually been. I feel for him and he doesn't deserve to feel that way but neither do working class people forking out £66 to watch a millionaire give the ball away 50% of the time!
Jay , I think the booing is quite irrelevant compared to Old Trafford being full since the Glazers took over . See what effect there would be on the Glazers with boycotted games . Stop enabling them for a while .
Basket case of a club, we clap ex players off like Ashley Young and slate our current players. Casemiro, Eriksen and Zirkzee were never going to work against an energetic Newcastle team who outnumbered and outclassed us in the middle of the park.
I don’t think new signings should be getting booed especially if they are trying on the pitch. Zirkzee played poorly but he is young new and was actually trying he just didn’t look like he was understanding what he was asked to do. Players who aren’t putting in the effort should get stick from the fans and the top of that list is rashford and casemiro.
Completely agree with you Jay 💯% In regards to the Booing of players.... Completely Disrespectful and like you say, it sends all the wrong messages to existing and potential signings 🙌🙏
Booing is wrong you cant blame the lad for the past 20 years. I dont think its him. Its the fans frustration over the past 10 years. He just coped it by throwing out a zero performance. It could have been anyone. All of the players deserved it based on that performance but its alot deeper than that.
I saw a clip the other day of 39 years old giggs running his heart out for a lost ball and tracking back! this is a young lad and yes 99% of the rest of the team are just as bad couldn’t give a monkeys showing legs, passion for football or this club! Silly hand shakes, pissing about in the warm ups.. hard working fans pay good money.. expect it to get worse if this carries on!! Pull your socks up boys!! Time to be men..
Sick of hearing people say 343 wont work in this league thats just ignorant. If done correctly it provides all the overloads and chance creation offensively and defensive channel coverage and numbers advantages when played correctly. Any system can work in any league if you have a good squad. Or even players that fit the roles of the system. The real issue is there are players in this squad who can’t play any style very well or play as a team player in any system, however you want to say it.
Dont like the booing, but fans have the right to. Being at the top level at anything you need the minerals and if he runs off crying then perhaps he is not cut out for it
Boos are not wrong. Signing a sloth to play in the PL is wrong. This entire squad is not up to par, forget winning anything. The fans expect effort at the very least, which is why they are voicing displeasure.

Attitude has to change from him if he wants to survive at the club.
We as fans should be UNITED !!!!
Never boo your own player, shame on anyone that did , always support the boys
The entitlement of this fanbase is disgusting.
Mazraoui is not a wingback, hence why we aren’t seeing the best of him. He’s a RCB or a fullback.
Fullback? My gosh you dont know do ya? 😂 maybe you should watch some ajax videos...
Sign him if you want.
United would take 20 million, certainly.
Booing is wrong, but he hasn't shown enough at United, and I wonder sometimes about his character.
But don't they whistle and throw tomatoes in Italy?
He was poor and was sacrificed to rectify the manager's error of putting a midfield out with no legs.
His link up play was good when he arrived, but was a huge negative for the 30 minutes he was on this game.
Nobody on the pitch seems to know their jobs anymore.
I do agree that we can't blame any single player when the whole team is shambles.
What a mess.
Was he any worse than Casemiro
@@iddyyo8074 for the time they were both on, I would say yes; but no one covered themselves in glory in any way.
The fans in the stands were getting frustrated with his wayward play; there was no need to boo the guy though.
Happy new year Man United Family❤
he loses the ball too fkin often. either holds for too long and then loses it to the defender, or misplaced the pass and gets counter attacked. zirkzee just needs to do simple basic stuff. receive and pass back, preserve the ball possession. or bait a foul like harry kane likes to do. this isnt serie a where you get time and space, epl defenders will hound you like a mad dog. still have faith in zirkzee, this is a steep learning curve for him
Maguire you lot booed him
Maguire will get cheered at Anfield 👍😏
I really like Zirkzee, effort and attitude mean a great deal to me. This treatment is appalling and could have a serious impact on him as a player and personally. If he is good enough or not, how much he cost and getting selected, he cant control, that is on the staff for putting him in the position but mostly he has kept his head up and tried. That has to be worth something.
Yeah...can understand upset and frustration...but the abuse from the fans against one player was absolutely disgusting....don't single players out its the whole bloody team that's under performing ....voice you frustration out on them all...felt a bit sorry for Zirkzee...
Old Trafford has lost its soul, I went to Bournemouth and you got the feeling we were going to lose before the game kicked off, confidence comes from the stands, the players aren’t great but the whole atmosphere adds to these displays we are supposed to be UNITED
Club is in 14th and looking like a relegation battle is on the cards this level of outcry over a player getting booed is mind blowing
Jay & Joe. Two of the most level headed fans on TH-cam..
I think you touched on something that I’ve been saying for a while & I wish you guys would make a video on the one player we rarely talk about.. the 12th man. The fans.
We’ve become so toxic. The press pick up on that & further stoke the flames.. & I think that transfers to the players. I feel like we’re destroying their morale.
The Theatre of Dreams has become The Cauldron of Nightmares. The players need us now more than ever
Level headed as long as you go all with his ( Jay’s) lefty views 🤷
Since scott tominay, Agron wan, sofyan left seems like team has ever drop worse in performance, these performance seemed have decent static per game, so seemed abit weird off loading them and not keeping sofyan on permanent deal as well would been decent deal both partys. Head scratcher
You didn't mind the boos when they were directed at Maguire
It made me sick when the crowd booed the poor guy, he'll never recover from that.
I gone to every home game for last 25 years, to many fans from other countries in OT the atmosphere has gone., The fans have killed Rashford now Zirkzee.
True United Fans always stand behind the players and managers.
Good or bad UNITED till i die
Booing your own players is shit in any case, but of all the players to blame for the state we're in, blaming Zirkzee is incredibly stupid
I think in the cold light of day most reasonable people would agree with you Jay. But in the heat of the moment, frustration can get the better of you. I felt for Zirkzee last night, it’s shameful what happened to him. He might not recover from it to be honest.
The header Diallo won and retrieved was because the other United player was offside. That's why he didn't run towards the ball himself.
Bang out of order booing Zerkzee we should be getting behind our players especially now in the form the teams in.
This is what it has become with alot of utd fans, it's been like this for a while, perfectic
Hooking him at 30 mins deserved booing. Any one with any sense would back their own decision and then if needed do it at half time
In that moment what are the fans meant to do? Cheer? Cry? Sing?
He got subbed off after 30 terrible minutes. What are the fans meant to do
At this moment, anyone who denies that bare racism exists in fan culture is simply trying their hardest to avoid acknowledging the issue. Pogba, Martial, Rashford, Lingard, and now Zirkzee-most of the time, skin color makes players scapegoats instead of their on-field performance. When everybody is playing poorly, it’s wrong to put the blame on just one person. But here we are.
The message to the players is the fans expect more.
Could be worse, imagine the treatment he'd get from the Real Madrid fans. That whistling is painful.
The fans have officially become a part of the problem too. The circle of hell is complete.
Happy new year Jay,Man U fam❤
Happy new year!!
The only thing it's legit to boo your players for is not trying.
Happy new year. 🧨🎋⚽️
I always wonder how these people support their family and friends. Surely it makes sense for all of us to do what we can to allow these players to play without fear? Its why the Maguire pile on annoyed me, just dumb...
I was part of the Maguire 'pile on' but I have a lot of respect for him nowadays.
The toxicity of the club has filtered down and is infecting the fans. Remember this when you talk about those letting the club down.
Fans should be able to communicate their displeasure by booing. Players get millions and cry when they get booed.
It doesn’t help. If you were a true fan you’d realize that just makes it worse
Great video. I also was embarrassed at OT the other night. 🤬
Zirkzee was brought for a different system, the main problems are work rate of ALL players and lets get the balls into the box
On paper. Casimero and Eriksen is world class but they just don't have the legs anymore
What about Amorin.. he is the one to blame...
Doesn't it say a lot about United that the best players are surplus to requirements at other top clubs?
Glazers are the problem jay don't blame shit on the fans the clubs a joke I'm 61 supported united all my life .
Glazers are the problem .
And ineos .
@@olgakanellis401Inehoes enabled the glazers
Jay , I think the booing is quite irrelevant compared to Old Trafford being full since the Glazers took over . See what effect there would be on the Glazers with boycotted games . Stop enabling them for a while .
Really hope zirkzee can turn it around that was so bad from our fans, poor kid
Scoring a goal doesn't make you man of the match. Man of the match is your performance in the match.
I know. But he literally was awarded MOTM.
@@FullTimeDevils Goals are part of what wins games performance first to get goals.
Best of luck man united for 2025. Football ⚽️
Completely agree with you Jay 💯%
In regards to the Booing of players....
Shame we can't get rid of fans.
what is a good way for matchgoing fans to express their frustration?
Dont like the booing, but fans have the right to. Being at the top level at anything you need the minerals and if he runs off crying then perhaps he is not cut out for it
Boos are not wrong. Signing a sloth to play in the PL is wrong. This entire squad is not up to par, forget winning anything. The fans expect effort at the very least, which is why they are voicing displeasure.
I think he’ll be kept as he can be an impact sub we need more strikers not less.
Fans are frustrated as this team has gone backwards in the years Time to clear out these players an get good recruits No game plan a no energy in these players Overpaid an underperformed players
The money got so stupid that topcoaches we,re powerless
Well said Jay! Booing is counter productive. Don’t even agree with booing the whole team. Singling out is unnecessarily rotten.
Not sure why you’re try to convince others to hold your view on Zirkzee. Fans pay their money and are entitled to express themselves. It wouldn’t have mattered who came off in the first half - some fans would have shown their frustration towards them. It just happened to be Zirkzee. What do you expect the fans to do when players aren’t prepared to do the basics and work hard. Loss of form can be forgiven, but not trying to - never.
Bollocks. You're telling me if Martinez comes off its the same reaction?
They are of course entitled to their view, but it’s about basic human decency. Says alot about you when you think football trumphs that.
Those who jeered him, ain’t utd fans. Support another club.
