- Saw my Alocasia black velvet struggling and decided to immediately repot it 🪴

@@CasualLeavesshould the corm be turn upside down in the opposite direction?! That’s what I have seen on all the videos, think maybe that’s why some don’t grow?✌🏼

@@CasualLeaves same, girl. My Alocasia black velvet is my saddest loss so far! I have one leaf left on my mother plant, so maybe she's not gone yet, but I see it coming. From 5 leaves to this last one. Luckily, I also discovered a few corms and just propogated them. HOPING for luck!! New sub, love your videos and vibe!
@@bratniii my same Alocasia BV is currently hanging on a base stalk...no leaves even now :( but seeing some growth point so fingers crossed 🤞🏻🌿 hoping yours do good :)

I was about to say the same, how's your plant doing now? start propagating corn in water first@@CasualLeaves
@@UmiYT-football I put it the right way soon after...it gave a small leaf later on but eventually it didn't survive 😕 had another corm later on...that didn't make it through either...it did root in water...I tried to use a bottle cap with little water in it...it helped in rooting but when transfered to soil, it didn't make it
@@CasualLeaves once it develops roots, just transfer it to water bottle/glass according to roots and leave, once it matures then transfer it to soil. That might help you
@@UmiYT-football can definitely try this...I directly put it in soil, which caused shock I'm sure
How is your plant doing? Can you post a video update?
It did well for a while..got two new leaves..and then it got a bad hit of root rot..it was in a single leaf club for a while..however just got a new leaf 2 days back..it has been recuperating..but now all plants are struggling a bit with spider mites..parallely it gave two corms..trying to get them to germinate..will do a video soon 😇🙌🏻

Your plant was suffocating! That soil was too compact. That plant needs very aerated soil like an orchid mix or pon.
Yes 😕 learnt that soon after and changed it to an aroid mix...However it's still struggling...just one shoot is left...no leaves...🙁
Try adding some humidity as well.
@@loriblackman552 trying to keep it in a humid spot these days, slightly under a shade...helped it big time 🌿
