We are heartbroken to share the sudden and terrible news that our African Grey parrot, Ligaya Summers, has passed away. She fought a long battle with Proventicular Dilation Disease (PDD). Rest in Peace, Ligaya. Spread your wings and joy in the heavens above!

I'm so very, very sorry and heartbroken. I've wanted an African Gray forever and haven't been able to do it so Ligaya was like my adopted bird. Thank you for sharing her short life with us. Maybe once the farm house is done you will be at a place in your life when you want another bird. They live so long and maybe you will want to adopt an older parrot too. Love you all.❤ This is not the birthday I wanted. 😭 The only tip I would give for next time is to do the daily weighing. Birds hide their illnesses so well but daily weighing can help you notice through weight change before they even act differently.❤❤❤

I have never openly sobbed as much as I did just now hearing about Ligaya’s passing. I HATE THIS YEAR!!!!! She was such a joy to see with how much love you both gave her. I want to say so much more but this is hard and I can only imagine the pain you are both going through. Stay strong and I will never forget Ligaya- she was truly Happiness to all of us.

This just broke my heart... I've been in hiatus from social media for awhile and am really super excited how everybody was doing... I miss everyone so much, I've been missing out on a lot of daily vlogs already and this is what hit my face immediately. I was so scared to click on it because I didn't wanna see everyones faces, especially Mikey. Everyone must be devastated including me who has been following her journey since she was a chick and I just couldn't face a future where Ligaya isn't in it. You had such amazing plans Mikey, huge plans.. Condolences to everyone who are grieving with me. All the ninongs and ninangs out there who were giving their full support to Ligaya and this channel since day one. RIP Ligaya.

I've never cried like I did over something like this. Maybe because I'm afraid of my own cat dying. And because Ligaya really was a sweetheart to watch. I'd never been interested in birds but getting to see her on the vlogs was always a good part of my day. I loved seeing her little adventures.

2020 really isnt pulling any punches... I've never seen someone take better care of their bird so you guys should NEVER blame yourselves for this happening to Ligaya, she was so strong to last this long with PDD and her other health ordeals, I think she knew she was loved ❤

I found this channel at one of the lowests points in my life back in 2018 when Ligaya first appeared in the vlogs. I have know idea how I found it, but it got me though some hard time when I badly needed cheering up. I loved watch Ligaya grow to such an amazing bird.

Ligaya was an incredible lady, she might not have known it but she touched the lives of millions. I know the heartache of loosing a bird, I lost my cockatiel of 16 years to cancer 6 years ago and I still have his toys, feathers and ashes in a memory frame and on his anniversary, I pull out the cards and his toys to remind me of him. Those memories never fade and neither will ligayas.

So sad. I cried as a child for death of pets, no matter how good we do, it is. My mom bought a st. Bernard and it died a week later. My brother was 24 yrs old and seemed healthy and died in his sleep. How horrible to lose our baby brother and to have spent his last day alive with him. The autopsy could not find a cause for his death either. It was horific for us. I'm glad that you both know what happened to her and you gave her the greatest life possible. @EthanHarry Du what I was explaining is death happens and sometimes for unknown reasons. It was my only brother that passed away at 24 yrs. old.

This is so heartbreaking. I’m so very sorry for you. Ligaya was a truly happy bird that was cared for so well. I had this little beautiful cockatiel. He truly was an amazing bird. We loved him so much. Sadly he also got sick one day, recovered at the vets, got sick again and died at the vets. My husband, my daughter and I, we cried our eyes out. When we had him cremated people declared us crazy. For us however he was a part of our family. There is no love without pain. It’s because you loved her so much that her leaving causes so much pain. She will never be forgotten. I wish you guys lots of strength ❤️

I follow this channel for over two years now. I don’t know her as you know her but it feels like I lost my pet.
I have seen her almost every day and I woke up early in the morning to watch the birthday live stream. She was a family member to me.
I have written this comment over three times now because I don’t know how to express this feeling.
I’m glad we got the chance to get to know such a beautiful soul. I'm also grateful that Cypher could meet his sister. They had a special relationship and the way she fed him shows she took the role of being a big sister.

I didn't realize she was so sick. I'm just finding out she passed on. I have a lot of respect that you were able to come on and talk about it. We lost our old man cat the last day in January, so I know how the tears will keep coming even when you think you're done.
Your vlogs with Ligaya changed my life. I fell in love with her as a chick, you and her are why I started seriously looking into birds, and why I've adopted an older African grey. I've had him for a year and a half now.
It seems like there was nothing you could do. And you gave her an amazing life. Your bond was so evident through your vlogs. You both gave off serious dad energy, even before you came out officially.
Don't give up on birds. You very clearly have a special ability with them.

I am in tears right now MIKEY n RJ as I've also lost 2 budgies before (SUMMER n WINTER).They gave us so much joy in our lives and losing them is so devastating! Yes we need to move on, but it will really take time before our pain heals. It's been years that they've been flying free in heaven but I still get "emotera" at times! Yes, LIGAYA is gone and we will miss her soooo much, but the MEMORIES WILL BE LOCKED AND FOREVER BE TREASURED IN OUR HEARTS! ... Edit: Mikey & RJ- God just sent a sign, I thought I'd share....while watching this vlog and crying, I went to blow by nose and as I looked out my tiny restroom window (over my half curtain too) to say a prayer for Ligaya, a tiny hummingbird appeared and stopped to hover and look at me for a few seconds. It was amazing! That window is so small.... at that very moment I knew she was free and God had blessed her and heard our hearts praying. Love you all! I'"m so very sorry!! Hugs, Amy in Oregon❤

She was a very special part of your life, and I feel your pain.
A week ago I lost my beautiful little dog Willow. (She was a darker version but looked like Cypher) In the thirteen years we had her, I was only ever apart from her for 1 hour. She was always in my arms or by my side 24 hours a day so it feels like I have lost part of my body.
I take comfort - and hope you do too Mikey and RJ, knowing that we gave them the best life possible and they were very happy and knew they were loved beyond words.

She seemed healthy Because when bird's are very sick they don't show it to you they and pretend that they are not sick so they pretend to be healthy so that you will not be sad and worried. That is what happened with my bird and I still feel like it was my fault. I am so sorry for her passing I know what it feels like.
