      @Interesting Dude you're wrong. In Bosnia we have many ethnicities but all together we are Bosnians. That officer gets paid from Bosnian government. You guys are filled with hatred that's your problem but you know very well how things are.

    • @erminr.5332
      @erminr.5332 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @Interesting Dude too bad you didn't read Bisnian Constitution. Bosnia and Herzegovina is home to three main ethnic groups or, officially, constituent peoples, as specified in the constitution. Bosniaks are the largest group of the three, with Serbs second, and Croats third. A native of Bosnia and Herzegovina, regardless of ethnicity, is usually identified in English as a Bosnian. Minorities, defined under the constitutional nomenclature "Others", include Jews, Roma, Poles, Ukrainians, and Turks.

    • @erminr.5332
      @erminr.5332 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Interesting Dude not valid? Of course it is valid. You have to read Bosnian Constitution and you'll learn that it is valid.

      Not weird. Because there are villages that belong to Bosnia and Herzegovina (and vice versa) and you can access them only by crossing border so Croatia and B&H had a deal that people who live there can cross it even without passport if they have license that says that they live in that place. This is not the real border for international crossing and that is why he couldnt pass. This border is not controlled so they closed it for other people.

      Ah, pola - pola. Do moje generacije '96. se učio jedan strani jezik u školi. Sad se uče dva, njemački i engleski, a u nekim gimnazijama (ja sam išao u KŠC Ivan Pavao II) nude više jezika, tj. tri strana obavezno: njemački, engleski i latinski (latinski tri godine), a nudilo se još francuski i grčki fakultativno.
      Sad je u osnovnim školama dva obavezna strana jezika.

    It is not international border crossing, it is for domestic/local people who lives in 5 km border zone. EU citizen may pass if really want, but than you get a ticket /fine which is about 150EUR. So it is better to turn around and go to "normal" border crossing.

      Ondrus21 It's because of complicated history and relations between Bosnia and Croatia. This border is only for local people and for their purposes of traveling to work, shopping, etc. It makes sense if you think about it.

    • @nosmokejazwinski6297
      @nosmokejazwinski6297 6 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      Bosnia and Croatia used to be one country since 1878 until 1991 hence many ppl who live in the areas near the border ended up having homes and properties located on the both sides of the border at 1991 when Croatia declared independence from Yugoslavia. Therefor, Bosnian and Croatian government solved this issue by creating a lot of small border crossings to make it easier for the local ppl who live near the border. Those border crossings are not marked as international ones and only local ppl can use them. As I already mentioned, Croatia and Bosnia have long history of being united thus we do not consider eachothers as foreigners.

      Most of the officers speak at least English or German. When they don´t then you could ask if there issomebody on the border who can speak English. Exeptions could be small and local border crossings where there is only one officer working. Also Batrovci is on the Serbian side of the crossing, Croatian border crosssing is called Bajakovo.

    • @SantomPh
      @SantomPh 5 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      CocoPlayer this kind of border requires registration and only for people living about 5-8 km from that point, in the local villages. It is not usually open to anyone else from the two countries, who have to use the major crossings. It also helps that the local Bosnian population tends to be ethnically Croatian for the most part.
      This crossing has no visa issuing facility or customs officials, hence shoppers or holidaymakers cannot use it anyway. To drive to Dubrovnik from Bosnia for example one has to go to the blue-roofed border post on the coastal highway and not through the local crossings in the north

      Its hard to explain for someone who does not live here, before the war there was yugoslavia, and yugoslavia was one big country made out of 5 or 6 current diffrent states. Alot of properties that are privately owned could be on both sides of diffrent states that were split up into borders by war, so in order that people could travel from property to property or something like work or from work they have the local border where they can pass strictly with ID and no passport needed. This isnt an official border tho and you cant go throught it. This is only for people living in the radius of approx. 10 km and people living away from those areas possibly coudnt pass there even tho they are croatian or bosnian citizens.
