Thank you! As a socially right leaning voter from Currituck, I think Dem party leader is incredibly impressive in her responses. R’s need to take note.
The Assembly is the state "school board" over the public schools, and has earned a failing grade for 15 years, most of which has been under Republican control. Time to hold an incompetent Assembly accountable for the failure of public education in North Carolina.
If you want schools to teach religion, you should definitely get Into a church school paid for by the church. If you teach religion at home and don't require that need you definitely are on the right track. Public funds and church funds are different.
Way to go Anderson!!!! Calling out the GOP bs to their face. Thank you for standing up for us here in North Carolina who are sick to death of the GOP’s partisan stunts.
I find it wierd that none of these people talks about the working class. What we need. Its always the political spin. The tv school the perception not the real problem of money being paid to workers. Its interesting.
Why do any swear a oath to the Constitution of this state? Then act like it is not the law and overthrow it with statues and then the courts think they can overthrow it with their opinion. Why are these acts of treason addressed and warrants issued for these actions?
Because courts are responsible for making sure the legislation being passed is constitutional. Removing the courts from this process gives politicians the power to pass anything they want, without regard to the constitution.

North Carolinians overwhelmingly want legalized recreational use of marijuana, but the best the NC Republicans will even contemplate will be medical marijuana, but historically all things NC citizens want are usually either ignored or postponed for a decade or more. Take the state lottery, NC was the last state on the East coast to allow it, as well as online gambling and even same sex marriage was opposed rigorously by the NC GOP. The state has a great opportunity to skip the farce of medical marijuana legalization, by openly consulting with the quality control and regulations Hawaii has done, despite the egregious delays and massive licensing fees to start each dispensary. NC could learn a lot of how Hawaii has done this right and alot of how not to make the same mistakes the Aloha State did. Imagine if recreational use passed, dispensaries were licensed, quality control & legislation from seed to consumption was spelled out, law enforcement was educated in the rights of the citizens concerning sale, purchase, usage & banking for the dispensaries was crystal clear, the State Supreme Court was not trying to legislate from the bench, and the taxes for it were collected, along with a tax waiver for medical marijuana prescribed by a doctor under the pre-approved medical conditions, how much NC could financially benefit from the revenue? I would suggest the taxes collected should be 25% towards addiction rehabilitation, 25% towards "public education only" teacher pay, 25% towards improvements in state infrastructure & 25% toward the state debt until there is a $1B surplus, then that 25% be switched to the NC rainy day fund, not for tourism, because if the state makes all these commitments, tourism taxes should subsidize itself, with no problems.
Please run for State Assembly! And I must add to your beautiful screed- North Carolina GOP is performative. THC-9 , THC-D, THC-A are legal here. Everyone is eating those gummies legally purchased in vape stores. As someone with experience, those gummies are extremely strong!!! My son’s best friend accidentally OVERDOSED on them.
