I only had a TV off and on back in the day, so I only got to see a few episodes of this then. But I knew it was something I wanted to see more of, so when I found it on TH-cam recently, I binged the whole series, including The Peacekeeper Wars. I think it's the best thing ever put on TV, even better than Star Trek! 😎
Farscape blew me away when I first discovered it 15 years ago. It was so full of wild and clever ideas, stunning aliens with great, original personalities, great polish, fantastic crafts of every kind, and immersive storylines. Having been frustrated about most sci-fi after Next Generation, during a tepid period in programming, I was amazed I’d never heard of it. The basic fish out of water, perils of Pauline, odyssey-like adventures almost never failed to being surprising, captivated and exciting. Still far too overlooked by critics and viewers.
Great little video, but as much as I enjoy looking back at Farscape the Original Series, as I do with my videos, I am MUCH more interested in looking forward to new Farscape.
100% Agreed. I can't understand why - especially in today's content hungry climate - this show hasn't gone back into production. The demand for it is certainly there; as is the potential for growth. It's potentially a huge draw for Amazon or Netflix - or whoever hosts it. You'd think it would be a no-brainer for the corporate suits; an unused franchise like this is just leaving a lot of money on the table. Given the advent of streaming services, a lot of the constraints imposed by network television no longer really exist; episodes can be as long as the need to be, rather than edited to precisely fit a 1 hour broadcast window. Production workflows have also changed radically since the original series: just the elimination of shooting on film and all the associated costs it includes - instead shooting direct to digital - could cut production costs and post-production time tremendously. From the public's perspective, the fan base for it is massive - far bigger than it ever was when it actually aired. There's not a lot of need for character introduction and development - it was all done 25 years ago. As long as they stuck to the fundamentals of what made the original show so weird and wonderful, there's little question it would be enormously successful...as long as the people steering the show are the people MAKING it - not the services showing it.

@@Ducky-face I agree with you. Brian Henson could do so well with a Farscape revival, especially with the advances in technology. I don;t understand why he won't. He did that awful dedective movie he wanted to sence his teenage years (he said). He did the Dark Crystal revival. He always says he wants to do more Farscape, s why not?????
@@FarscapeContinues As I understand it, there has been an active effort underway from Henson and O'Bannon to revive the franchise for quite a while now; it's just a matter of details and money. I had read an article last January someplace that discussed where they were in the process and it was sounding like they were getting pretty close; they were just trying to nail down a few more investors and a production facility. I'm sure that it will initially be kept pretty quiet if it goes back into production. They'll want to have at least a season in the can before they start making announcements about it. Who knows - they may already be in production on it now - but I wouldn't hold my breath. I think the fact that the series is running 24/7 on TH-cam is probably a good sign.
@@taylemgames2652 Eh. I could never get into SG1. Even when Ben and Claudia were on it. I liked the *idea* of the show and I liked the characters, but I could never sit through an episode. Too boring. Chemistry between Ben and Claudia: Through the roof. Chemistry between Claudia and Michael Shanks: Nada. I did like the anniversary episode, I think it was the 100th or something, when they were doing different sci-fi show versions of their show and they did a Farscape parody. That was cute.
Finally someone say that Stargate is not a good show. I love Farscape and all Stargate fans I know hate Farscape. Is this an accident or is it a some kind of vibes? Great interview. I started watching Farscape when I was 15 years old and that was 9-10th grade and that was 23-24 years ago.
lol Fox....meanwhile a whole franchise has made billions of dollars to entertain the mainstream audiences cus someone was a fan & it inspired them to retell the story not mention it even had a cameo from an original cast member lol....GOTG is what I mean if anyone reading this doesn't catch the references
I do wish Ben Browder hadn’t been wearing that golden face makeup in his cameo tho, to my everlasting shame I couldn’t recognize him the first time I watched Vol. 2.

Still my all time favorite sci fi show. There's nothing like it.
Farscape, SG1, Babylon 5 brilliant compared to now a days

Ben and Claudia are my favorite Sci-Fi couple. The chemistry was out of this world. Put Han Solo and Leia to shame.
Farscape was one of the most unique shows ever. It could never be made in the current climate of entertainment.
James Gunn owes his whole career to farScape.
His comments about how Ben Browders eyes tell another story was very, very spot on
Brian got a little saucy talking about Stargate, fun!
this is really cool to watch

I’m not they destroy all stuff with wokeness now. Unless original creators with the same intent come back to do it I wouldn’t watch.

Still one of my top two sci-fi series. Was just so different and still is.
Doing things way before other companies did 👏👏👏👏👏
Great video...👍
Farscape has ruined me for all other sci-fi shows. This is my favorite. All others seem sterile and bland by comparison.
Farscape and SG1 are my jam.
And the fact that Ben and Claudia are on SG-1 make it all that much better their chemistry is amazing even if SG-1 they are not a romantic couple

Sure, as hell. It has held up. It's still a good show. They could reair the show and get a whole new fan base.

I would love to buy a 4k remastered complete box set with The Peacekeeper Wars included. Even if it's the fan remastered stuff, it looks great!
Just an amazing show. What I would give to make a new official Farscape RPG.
