    Thank you so much for sharing this. It brought me to tears. I hope that one day, God willing, I can be even half as dedicated as you, and teach my future children the love of the Lord.

    My heart was beaming with joy and love while watching this video.
    I sometimes watch quiet morning routines (which are very hard to find btw), but to see one filmed from an Orthodox home was so encouraging and fulfilling. It was beautiful and authentic. Seeing you and the kids make the sign of the cross, or crossing the food before putting it in the oven made me think- these are the only type of videos I want to see on TH-cam from now on and I refuse to let myself dumbed down by watching anything else that doesn't make me feel true to my real self.
    I am so grateful for your entire channel. I'm convinced that sometimes it can be hard finding the time to invest in it, but know that it is of great help for this community of mothers, striving to raise our children in Christ. Thank you so much, Sylvia.
    May God bless you and your beautiful family.
    PS. You are always on my prayer list.

    Love this! It's super inspiring. I don't have children yet but I hope that if I do, I can follow a sort of routine like this in the morning. Would love to see more content like this; as a teacher, I'm really curious to see more of what your typical "school day" looks like!

      Thank you, that’s so sweet of you to say. I’m sure at some point I’ll do a homeschool day video-but quiet definitely won’t be in the title! 😆❤️

    So inspiring. Thank you for showing how it can look. The part that honestly impacted me the most was how cozy your morning prayer time is. I honestly never thought I file sit and pray I thought it was always in front of our icons and formal... add 3 little kids to that scenario and I have a pretty lacking prayer life!
    I’m inspired that it can be this way when my kiddos get a bit bigger. Right now our morning and homeschool looks more like the Costco food court but soon enough!! God bless you, sister!! - Olga in Goldendale

    • @SylviaUnscripted
      @SylviaUnscripted  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope it inspired you to do the same! Formal prayer is very important but I also think it's important to pray in moments like this as well, and all throughout the day during the chaos! Remember life moves in seasons and before you know it your littles will not be little! So for now, enjoy it and connect with God at any and every moment you can, no matter where you are.

    Thank you for sharing how you direct your day for homeschooling with an Orthodox perspective. We are just starting homeschooling this year with my oldest in kindergarten. If you have any set curriculum suggestions for the early years for someone really wanting to incorporate Orthodox viewpoints and teachings, please let me know. I have many people suggesting anything from Memoria Press or Abeka to secular ones like Bookshark plus adding an Orthodox curriculum such as Garden of the Theotokos. I know I probably won't get exactly what I want in a preset curriculum and will have to modify accordingly, just trying to find one that is not so heavily Protestant. Maybe someday I will have time to write my own.

      Of course! The prayer book is from Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville. It’s a blue cloth bound one. And yes, I take extra antidoron from church on some sundays and then dry it out. Here’s a link to how I do it: www.orthodoxmom.com/2020/04/27/how-to-prepare-antidoron-for-your-little-church/

    Not sure if you covered this in another video but in your home alter what do you have in the large box in the middle and the smaller ones on the side. I'm always curious to see how others have it set up

    • @SylviaUnscripted
      @SylviaUnscripted  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We have holy things that we've received from various places in the smaller boxes--like holy myrrh on cotton, or leaves from the burning bush, etc. The larger box is for holy relics and also hold our baptismal crosses when they're not being worn. 🙏🏼

    Sylvia, how do you get that much dried andiron after liturgy? I adore this idea of giving the kids and I a little cube after morning prayers. Id love to know what you do. Do you bake it and have priest bless it and then bring your loaf home ?
    Also where did you find the roller dispensers for the holy oil? Genius!

    • @SylviaUnscripted
      @SylviaUnscripted  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alexandra! Sometimes my priest gives me extra after Liturgy or each of us will take a couple extra pieces after communing. I put them in a ziplock bag until we're home. Then I cut them into tiny pieces and dry them in the oven. I have a video on exactly how I do that on my blog www.orthodoxmom.com :)

    What is the censer used for morning prayer and where can I find one?? It looks so beautiful! :)

    • @SylviaUnscripted
      @SylviaUnscripted  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Whenever we pray, we burn incense and remember psalm 141:2, “Let my prayer arise before You as incense...” It's been used since the old testament. In the beginning of the book of Job, he arises early to offer incense and prayer to God lest his children sinned against Him in their hearts. This is what I think of. ☺️ The one I use was purchased on a trip to Greece many years ago, but www.orthodoxchristianchildren.com carry similar ones that they import.

    How do you pray over the list of names for people in your prayer book? Like 1 prayer rope for all the names or?

    • @SylviaUnscripted
      @SylviaUnscripted  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I say one ‘Lord have mercy’ for each name, one knot at a time.
