How they don't break character in some of these scenes always amazed me. They sound silly most of the time, but their level of skill and professionalism is over the top. :P
This show is/was an all-time classic. There will never be another like it....not in this candy-assed country that the US has turned out to be. There was one Sunday evening back in the late 80s when a buddy of mine and I went to a local pub for a few beers. MWC was on the pub's big screen. The entire place was silent and watching the show. That's validation!

Married with Children was politically incorrect but in the best way. It was just funny and honest. Al would get his little high from making jokes about Peg and making fun of fat women who came into the store but that's all he had and it helped him get through the day supporting a family of 4 on a Shoe Salesmen's salary. He was loyal to his wife at the end of the day and loved his kids even though he was the only one working to support all of their bad ideas and shenanigans. And he put up with their insults on him about his job even though he was supporting all of the them. He was a mans man.
I should've believed all Al's existential teachings and never got married. Everything he says is true about being married. Now I'm divorced and paying through the nose.
