John Garcia You might remember me, I’ve been around the gym for a long time I fought Robert in the amateurs and he’s a friend of mine, I actually just am driving home from Riverside right now right now, I don’t know if you remember but there was a similar incident in Oxnard ,a guy came hitchhiking from Washington state, Robert said him up in a motel for a week, and then the kid ended up moving into the mission I bought him a bike so he could ride back-and-forth to the gym, because he was walking about 25 miles round-trip,,but you’re 100% right God brings people into our lives for a reason, and your heart will always tell you what the right thing to do is

OMAR ZEPEDA fui a buscar una oportunidad para mejorar o volverme profesional y considere hacerlo con Abel por el trabajo y el manejo de su carrera con GGG asta donde se lo han manejado bien tenia trabajo en México y lo deje viaje en avión desde tamaulipas asta tijuana y de tijuana fui a yndio y luego San diego de San diego a San Bernardino y de ahí a big.bear lake camine cargando una maleta como con 12 kilos taxi era muy caro y uber no tengo solo me acepta credit card y no tengo entonces solo me quedaba el bus así fue como llegue asta allá estando allá me quede en un hostal no tenia tanto dinero solo lo indispensable cuando estaba en yndio tuve que "dormir" en un McDonald's pero la que cuidaba ahí no dejaba dormirse ala gente y cuando te veía cabecear le pegaba ala mesa tarde 1 dia entero para encontrar el gimnasio de Abel estuve caminando y preguntando la verdad todas las casas se parecen y lo vine encontrando atrás de un carls junior 😂 cuando un día en la noche supe donde era decidí ir al día siguiente alas 7 am a pedir una oportunidad de entrenar y si no miraba nada bueno Abel en mi pues solo mejorar aprender lo mas que pudiera pero me dijeron que Abel no estaba y que regresara ala 1 pm llegue alas 12:30 por si Abel llegaba antes y uno de sus ayudantes me dijo que me fuera a esperar que fuera la 1 que me fuera a carls junior a esperar 😂 cuando faltaban 10 min regrese y ya estaba Abel ahí lo quise saludar y me dijo( que no sabes que aquí es propiedad privada!!! Retírate por favor vallase!!) Cuando quise hablar me dice (ni para que hablar vallase mejor si no quiere problemas retírese vallase!!!) Pasado eso ya no tenia nada que hacer en big bear y el autobús para regresar a San Bernardino salia alas 5 am y me tuve que quedar en la calle en una banca hacia mucho frío como 12° y tuve que meterme a un baño ambiental de los que ponen que parecen cubos para resguardarme del frío así que no tuve de otra y pues caminar caminar para poder llegar aquí a riverside

Ive read alot of the comments (mostly positive) which makes sense considering this young mans story as told , but in todays social media ran world it can be hard to believe anything as true and not staged . My son who is an amateur boxer from Oklahoma had the oppurtunity to meet Mr. Garcia at the Errol Spence fight in Dallas and the Alex Saucedo fight in OKC earlier this summer , both times Mr. Garcia who was extremeley busy took time to take photos with him and anyone who asked . He was very humble and super nice to everyone every time . The other side of this story is Abel Sanchez was at the OKC Top Rank fights on the same night . My son politely asked Abel Sanchez 3 different times during the evening if he could take a pic with him . He looked him right in the face ingored him and turned his back and just walked away everytime . Pro Boxing is a business (Entertainment Business) Dont forget your fans or they will forget you . Thank You Mr. Garcia you have made my son and myself a fan for life !!!

Abel has a fighter preparing for a big fight in a few weeks.
A random person comes up unannounced to a private gym to come meet GGG.
It will come off as suspicious.
There have been many cases throughout boxing history where camps spy on eachother to bring back intel to their team.
Abel was just playing it safe.
GGG was definitely honing his skills for the rematch and it wasn’t ‘press/media’ time (where the fighter would put on a show for the cameras but conceal their special tactics for the upcoming fight).
Letting this kid in could’ve possibly jeopardized the whole rematch gameplan.

When Americans go to Costa Rica, or any country, they get 90 days and either have to fill out some application or cross the boarder for a day or two before coming back for another 90 days.. Regardless, Americans can't just start working in another country and never leave, and if caught doing that you are taken to the airport and never allowed back... It has nothing to do with racism.. It's protecting the jobs of a countries citizens.. Makes sense too.. Or everyone would just move to Costa Rica and enjoy a lower cost of living in paradise..
