The campaign is basically a tutorial, every map in Chaos Theory is its own campaign and they're long though. The dinosaurs feel alive, management is challenging, but fun, overall a very pretty, rather chill game with a nice feel of progression and homages to the franchise. 8/10, way superior to the first one.

The dinosaurs aren't supposed to be accurate. They are supposed to be a product, an attraction. It's been touched on a number of times in the movies. The prologue for the most recent one even features the individual that the T Rex was cloned from and shows it as being more scientifically accurate.
This is a nice explanation, but the reason why the dinosaurs aren’t accurate is because what we know about dinosaurs today wasn’t really known about in 1993.
Its EXTREMELY clear the guy who reviewed this game didn't play the first as in the verdict he highlights things that were already in the original game and doesn't highlight the actual new features like the aviary which has been majorly improved from the second one or the brand new lagoons for aquatic creatures still agree with 7/10 tho
He complains about the dinosaurs not reflecting newer research, yet complains when the dinosaur needs are actually reflective of real research, like the raptor's trees and tall grass needs lol
well they actually lived along the mongolia-china border so they likely encountered trees/woodlands on a somewhat normal basis, also they would more than likely hang by tall grass, since animals like psitacosaurus had tail spines made to mimic tall grass

Problem is THEY DID DIVERGE. The stegosaurus look great in jurassic park 2, and terrible in world. Because they made them look like 1950s dinosaur designs.

in the movies it explained that the dinosaurs they made are not completely accurate, they use modern animal dna to fill in the gaps as they have no complete dinosaur dna. so they basically engineered the looks and behaviour of the created dinosaurs to be what they wanted or imagined to be. most of the dinosaurs created were originally from the first park or descendants of those so they looks like what we thought they looked like 25 years ago. there's other side effects that are completely not what real prehistoric dinosaurs would have, like the ability to become pregnant and give birth without any mating, all dinosaurs created in Jurassic Park were female.
To be fair on the "look" of the dinosaurs not matching modern science.... they ret conned this in Jurassic World.. BD Wong says they never had 100% DNA so they had to fill in with things like frogs and lizards.... IE built in excuse for the look.
It really wasn't retcon, Henry Wu made the same point in the first Jurassic Park book. His speech in the Jurassic World movie was basically taken from a scene in the first book where he was arguing with John Hammond. Wu even argued in favor of making engineered super-dinosaurs in that exchange, which Hammond resisted, but Wu felt that what they had created was so far different from the wild animals that going full-Indominus scarcely made a difference. So these discrepancies have been canon (and important to the plot, given the breeding thing) since day 1. The whole thing was really meant to conjure Frankenstein vibes.

You gave this game the same rating as Vanguard. That's like saying Hot Fuzz and Jack and Jill are equally funny. The 2 aren't even comparable. JWE2 is definitely more deserving of an 8 or 8.5 where as Vanguard shouldn't even be scraping a 3 it's awful

You have every dinosaur and building in sandbox mode now, only thing you need to do is unlock the maps, and the only map you really need is Isla nublar 2015, the biggest map I'm the game, got it unlocked within an hour

The scientists feature in the new game feels like a poor attempt at making the game more complex. It gets annoying, boring and detracts from actually enjoying the core dinosaur park game. It’s annoying ‘busy work’. The developers could have focussed more on features to enhance the fun of building and running a dinosaur park but instead we are managing people and fuel (every second of the day). There are one or two minor improvements in this new version granted (fences and paths), but the 1st game was so much more enjoyable overall which gave you the ability to automate routine tasks; go play that one . This is a missed opportunity. Now uninstalled.
With Chris Pratt voicing everyone now a days its kinda funny that they couldn't get him to voice a character he's already played.
He'd be pretty expensive to book I'd imagine.

This game allows for automation too for the most part, ranger teams can basically run the whole park for you
