I can't speak for anybody else, but given Eddie's track record of treating and paying fighters properly, I for one will be wishing the new zone venture, all the success in the world. I love boxing and want nothing more than to see it as healthy and mainstream as possible. Eddie (like him or not) has done absolute wonders for British boxing, long may it continue.

I 100% agree.. There are so many snakes in boxing/ throughout its history Eddie isn't anywhere near that level. He does have a polarizing personality though and I can easily see why people would not like him.

Check out Mikey Garcia's response to the Hearn offer. A three fight deal that promised an increased amount for the fights. According to Robert Garcia's gym, the problem was that the final fight amount was no better than Garcia's last bout earnings. Mikey would make much more if he avoided Hearn. Broner wanted nothing to do with an offer either. It looks as though Eddie underestimated the money needed to secure the big names in the USA.

20 mins onward, Ed is quite rightly talking of the benefits of Boxing on peoples lives and how it can deter them from less desirable routes in life to hopefully instill some discipline and order. In this case, boxing essentially acts as a proxy structure for something key which is absent elsewhere in their life, yet you have people that feature on the likes of Good Morning Britain and other 'talk segments' that would like to see it banned because of the health implications later in life. Their intentions may seem good, but rather myopic when looking at the behavioural benefits at a general level. I always find it interesting that the people that want it banned likely have absolutely nothing to do with the sport, or are judging it by very select experiences. Reminds me of certain feminists arguing with the women that are happy to be ring girls. You'll always get certain individuals or groups that think their moral view is best for all. Bit of rant so I'll get back in my box now.
